Hi All,
My lovely 7 month old giant breed has NO UNDERCOAT and no puppy coat. She lost her puppy coat at 4 months - I have never had a pup loose it this fast! she now has a wonderful straight shiny coat coming through - but not much of it! which makes her loo very odd!
We have a few more shows coming up,and I'd really like her to be able to be shown to her full potential - we have been on yumega for 6 weeks now, coat is coming, but slowly! and not much undercoat- any ideas???

are you over grooming her? with my beardies if I groom too often I would end up removing too much undercoat... also in some lines in my breed some have more than others...
I am sure now that the colder weather is coming .BRRRR .. the undercoat will appear in abundance..
What breed is she?

Newfoundland!
Over grooming would be a fine thing! - there isnt much to groom! - Her Dam is mine-she has a fab coat, siblings have full fluffy puppy coats,She has a wonderful top coat, just very thin and makes her look diddy as it has no body of undercoat!
I use Royal Jelly capsules to encourage coat growth. I think they work on my breed and make a difference. The ones I use are I think called Bumbles and they are fresh royal jelly capsules which you can get in Holland and Barrett. There are lots of makes out there but most are freeze dried and from what I have read, fresh is better, although it is more epensive - about £12 for 30! I give one a day when I use it. I thought they gave my bitch a lovely bloom and vitality as well as more coat. I use Salmon oil and probiotics routinely, I think these help with overall health of skin and coat.

Interesting, think i'll give them a go :)

Barqueiro - How many capsules do you give. My bitch is 28K
My bitch is about 24 kg and 1 used one capsule a day for 2 months to try to recover damage she had done through scratching - she's sensitive to fleas and can destroy her coat in 24 hours. You can use them indefinitely if you want but I just use them now and again if we have a big event coming up.

well my long coated gundog has a harsher coat than my terrier at the moment so we need help lol, think i'll try them myself too :)
