Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Dopram V delivery query
- By Cani1 [gb] Date 27.10.11 14:56 UTC
Hi , I was just going to place my order for Dopram V with Hyperdrug who I usually use but noticed there was no mention that the item would be chilled , I know it wasn't the last time I ordered one over 2 years ago now , but I remember reading that it must be kept chilled while delivered. So I had a look on Vio VET they say they are sent chilled but before I placed my order they don't guarantee when they will send the item.
Has anyone ever used Vio vet and would you recommend them . I'm one of those that get used to using a trusted company but I don't want to risk buying from Hyperdrug if it won't be chilled .
Thanks :)

I got mine from Hyperdrug; I had no idea it had to be chilled. However, I did check it yesterday, and the bottle is nearly half gone from when I checked it when it first arrived! Some how I think it's leaked, hmm. Should I put it in the fridge?

Yes  it has to be stored in the fridge , I'd call them they and tell them it must of leaked .

I'll pop it in now then, I wish they'd said that on the website!

I know , and you are expecting your pups any time now aren't you ?
Hope you don't need it and everything runs smoothly for you :)

I've ordered a lot of dog toys from vio vet because their prices are so good.  I find their delivery quite slow, but generally worth the wait.  I find if you ring them up to query something they are very helpful, and sometimes I'm sure it speeds up delivery :-D

It should have come with a data sheet.  This is a strong medication and its use should not be taken lightly.
If you did not find the data sheet you can read all you need to know here including dosage and administration also contraindications and warnings.  I suggest you catch up before you are too busy to read it properly :)
I would be concerned if it is leaking as to exactly where it has gone as it can be nasty stuff

>Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. In the event of contact, wash with plenty of water. If irritation or other symptoms persist, seek medical advice. Do not smoke, eat or drink when using the product. Wash hands after use.

>For animal treatment only. Keep out of the reach and sight of children.

If it has not been stored correctly or the seal has been broken for more than 28 days it should be discarded but again you need to dispose of it properly.  Best to take it to a pharmacy.

Hi Stooge,

Thanks for that. Luckily it was only bought about two weeks ago, but I'm so glad I found this out NOW instead of then! I read the dosage sheet last night and where/when to administer. Hopefully I won't need it but you're right; I'd rather know now! It hasn't got any residue outside of the bottle nor box, and has only been in the whelping kit box in the kidney dish so far so thankfully if it has leaked it'll be out of harm's way. I'm guessing I throw it away once we've whelped? Will take it to the pharmacy when we do.

Thanks again, I have no idea where I would be without this forum!

I am not sure if it is usable after two weeks above 8 degrees, whether it becomes merely unviable or toxic so I think you would be best enquiring from the pharmacy that you bought it from.
I would also be concerned about the seal being broken.  If you do not think that has happened since you had it how long might it have been?
- By waggamama [gb] Date 27.10.11 15:47 UTC
I think the seal must have broken whilst I've had it, because I checked it when it arrived and it was full and sealed, checked it last night and it wasn't. I'll order some more tonight never the less, don't want to risk it!

If you have time for someone to go for you, manor phanacy sell it and can usually supply it within a few a hours if they havn't got it in.
