Is it worth considering a lock of her hair in a locket?
Not to everyone's taste I'm sure but I have some of my son's ashes in a locket that I wear constantly and it is a source of great comfort to me. That obviously isn't an option with burial, but a lock of hair might give you that same closeness

Our lovely girl passed today, it was a very hard day, it started with sickness but ended with sitting in the garden in the sun before the vet arrived, she was a very good girl and died in our arms on the settee.
We've cried many many tears but now have some peace in the knowledge that she does not have to have syringes shoved in to her face and she maintained her magnificant dignity to the end.
I have posted on rainbow bridge for our lovely Tessa

Pinky,
I'm so glad you were able to let her go at the right time, with dignity and having enjoyed the sun. We all die and what more can one ask of the inevitable than a relatively pain-free and dignified end. It was down to you that Tessa had that.

I am glad she went peacefully knowing how much she was loved x

Such a hard day for you but Tessa is now at peace and running free. I know you are in for many hard days to come but hang on in there and things will eventually get better.

It must have been so hard but I'm glad you got the sunshine and the time to say those goodbyes. Thinking of you x
