Hi sasha, poor pup - Ive lost two dogs to brain tumors, Bonnie my staff who had a complete behaviour change due to the pressure on her brain, and was finally diagnosed with a tumor, and Sunny my Golden retriever who was only 2 years old - her back legs went from time to time and she started to fit, at first the vets thought epilepsy, but it turned out to be a tumor:( You have my sympathies, there was nothing they could do for either of them sadly :( Julie:(

hi julie
sorry to hear about your dogs . would you reckon i will have to put him down ?
- By muddydogs [gb] Date 07.01.03 16:05 UTC
Sasha, I dont want to worry you unduly, I think you have to wait and see what the results come back as, as it depends on the age of the dog, what sort of tumor/lesion is there and where it is situated. Both of my dogs had to be pts, Both were inoperable, I'm not sure if any can be operated on or reduced by radiotherapy, chemotherapy? As the diagnosis for both my girls was so terrible and nothing could be done, I didn't really go into other cases in any detail. Also, as Sunny hated the vets and hated strangers and would have been so unhappy being investigated and treated any more than she had been to, to be diagnosed, I personally wouldn't have taken that option if it had been available to me, for her sake really, she would have been totally miserable - she was just that kind of natured dog :( I wouldn't like to hazard a guess for your pup, it would be unfair, wait to see the results. We were just really unfortunate to have to loose two dogs to the same thing. My fingers are crossed for you :) Please let me know how you get on. Julie:)

did you find out if he had his first injecting,
- By sasha2 [gb] Date 07.01.03 14:43 UTC
no he hasent had any injections yet . his been like this since he was born you touch his face then he growls at you and trys to bite you . when his awake all he wants to do is bark at you . trys to bite you . i know all pups bite when they play but he is different kind of play . then when he is tired he will come and cuddle up to you and go sleep .

Poor wee soul, he must be feeling pretty unwell :-( Has the vet given him any medication to help with the symptom until further test results are available ? Fancy having to wait that long for test results, you'd have thought they could have rushed them though?

When my bitch was a pup and was diagnosed with meningitis the hospital rushed the tests through the same day ! I even personally delivered some blood tests so speed things up and got results back the next day when we thought she might be having a relapse. I was luck that the lab was reasonably close that I could do this.

I hope there is something that can be done for the little one. Lots of luck.
