More advice please from you experienced peeps.
Brooke is 7 months old now and sleeps downstairs in her crate now here comes the trouble she wakes early between 5 and 6.30 mostly because she can I take her out she has a wee the comes back in and unless she comes upstairs with me will not settle, then all is fine.
Sjhe has started getting difficult about settling in her crate so have decided that she can now sleep upstairs with me.
This works really well she settles and not a peep until a civilized hour unless I am at work except.
she settles  at night by my bed but sometimes I am guessing early morning she wakes without waking me goes down stairs does a wee or poo in the hall ( fortunately laminate ) and comes back to bed to sleep again.

I am not sure what to do next, I dont want to let her poo/wee indoors now, she is mostly housetrained except doesnt asked to be let out so I have to make sure she goes out regularly  and I have thought about having the crate in my room but it is really too big to have there.

She has not been any easy pup to get to settle as she is so attached to being with me especially although fine when she is left during the day.In fact she has a number of foibles of her own which we are working at:)

Why not put a stair gate at the bedroom door so she will disturbe you and wake you if she wishes to go downstairs.

could you maybe put a bell on her collar to alert you that she is on the move, or a try a stairgate at top of the stairs so she "asks" you to take her down, or go back to the alarm clock early hours to let her out ?

Stairgates not a bad idea except from experience she will then just wee where she is rather than asking to go downstairs. She does jingle when she moves due to her tag but both she and my other dog wander about a bit at night anyway just for a change of position I think so I would be up and down like a yoyo.
Maybe the alarm clock idea again might work

I think the biggest problem is th epooing bcause I still had abit of this problem when she was crated in that once she had awee in the morning she would have a poo somedays anything up to an hour after. She is so different to other dogs ihave had once they were housetrained and mostly properly before 6 month the would make it clear they wanted to go out and I rarely had an accident. Brooke is much less bother althpugh when outside is pretty good at going in one area even without being prompted each time

Just had a thought what time to people give their dogs there last feed ? I wounder if I changed her last meal to either earlier or later it would help ?

When my dogs were getting 2 meals a day[free fed at present] the last one was 6-7pm and they get a dental chew at bed time.

yes same as mine. Might try adjusting her mealtime

Just to update almost since I posted pup has been sleeping with me upstairs through the night with no problem. If the family get up before me they take her out and she settles if not she has once stayed in bed after I got up
