Only the breeder of a litter can register pups & I think it has to be before they are 12 months old.

Notsure i was clear on what i meant!! trying to find out what the kennel club rules are on bitch that has registed litter in the last year and planning to breed her again can she be bred in last year and as long as the litter are whelped after 12 months or when the last litter was registered thanks .

If the breeder is a licenced breeder (ie, licenced by the council because they produce more than 4 litters per year) then there must be a 12-month gap between the birth of litters to the same bitch. If the breeder doesn't need to be licenced then the KC will register a second litter within 12 months.

I'm assuming the bitch has had a season since having her litter and the breeder is planning to mate her on the next season, and it's not a "back-to-back" mating (ie on consecutive seasons)?

12 months (approx) is a perfectly acceptable - by most - gap for litters, it's back to back litters in less time that is much (rightly) frowned upon.  There may be a day or two less than 12 months depending on seasons.  I think most breed clubs, whatever they now call accredited, and licenced breeders have to leave the 12 month gap, all responsible breeders also - only puppy farmers and byb who wouldn't.

Assured breeder scheme :)  I believe it is only certain breeds that are not permitted to have a second litter within one year.

This is only one opinion.  I don't really see any problem if the bitch is back in full health which is entirely possible in many breeds.  The breed clubs are probably the best able to determine whether it is appropriate or not.

Champdogs doesn't allow advertising of a litter after less than 11 months gap btw for any breed, and not for bitches under 2 years of age.  I can't think of any breed where it's recommended to have a litter at under approx 12 months :-(

As I say, I think breed clubs are in the best position to know what is appropriate.

Neither can I it's not an aspiration! :) but neither of the breed clubs I belong to prohibit it.  Their code just requires the bitch to be healthy.  Others I have seen have simply stated members must comply with the KC code which, of course, does permit it.

This is what the BSD Association of GB say about age and litters in their CoE:
Members will not breed from bitches either before the age of 2 years or the 3rd season whichever is the earlier, nor will they breed from bitches on consecutive seasons if the seasons are less than 12 months apart.  Exceptional circumstances accepted.
The Papillon (Butterfly Dog) Club just has the general KC CoE.
