Hi, could anyone please tell me the difference between ScCh at the front of a name and ScCM at the end
Many thanks

Is it meant to be ShCh ie Show Champion at the beginning, and ShCM ie Show Certificate of Merit at the end?

Think so, am I correct in thinking that Show Champion (ScCh) is to do with CC's?
What is a Show Certificate of Merit?
Sorry for daft questions, new to this :-)
Thanks

SHCM- open show points won with Best of breeds not a champion title

CH- Champion won with 3 CC'S

ShCh- same as CH just means show or conformation champion

FTCH- is a trial/ working champion and is used instead of just CH as it would get mixed up with ShCm

Hence why gun breeds or trial breeds dropped CH and used the slightly longer version to save getting mixed up with the working champions

Thank you!

FTCh stands for Field Trial Champion - a dog need never have been inside a showring to have won this title. In gundogs I believe Ch is used when the dog is a Show Champion and has won a working certificate as well, otherwise the title is ShCh.

A Dual Champion is a gundog which has achieved both ShCh and FTCh titles, and are as rare as hen's teeth!

Spot on Jeangenie :)
In GSP's the breed has been lucky to have had a few Dual Champions over the years, but more Full Champions ( a show Champion with a Field trail award or Show Gundog Work Certificate). A Dual Champion is a rare and treasured thing :)

The same situation applies for Border Collies they can only gain a Sh Ch unless they get a working qualification, and of course there are sheep dog trials champions.

Yes, not many border collie full champions - although they do 'only' have to pass the working test rather than a 'real' sheep dog trial, my friend was 'robbed' of a full champion as although her sh ch was great with sheep he never passed the test :-(

Other champions, of course are agility, obedience and working trials - again the dog doesn't have to be a show dog and doesn't actually have to be on the KC breed register :-)  Not on the pedigree but should be I think are FCI World Agility Champions, team and individual - although these currently can't be anything but KC breed registered they should be recognised.

Yes our Kennel club is the only National main Kennel club in the world that accepts non pedigree dogs for their activities such as Obedience Agility etc.

Quite progressive compared to some, as is their allowing neutered/spayed dogs to be shown in standard breed competition.
