Hi,I was wondering which are the best companies that deliver raw meat to your door?I've had Landywoods suggested, but hearing about delivery problems, puts me off a little bit.I currently use Prize Choice, but feel I'd like to change to a better quality of meat.

Have recently started using Albion after a recommendation from someone on here [Merlot] and can't fault them at all so far. The meat is well packaged, always fresh and clean, the customer service is good and they deliver when they say they're going to. So far we've got everything we've ordered, nothing missing and/or no substitutions.

I have been using albion for the past 4 deliveries and have found them very good. I do know of some who have had problems but not here. The dog food company has soem good stuff but delivery and communication can be aproblem so tend to use him just for odd bits here and there

TPMS were always relaible when I bought raw (don't have  dog freezer at the moment).

Whereabouts are you?

I use TPMS and cannot fault them for deliveries, service, price and quality of food.

Have used Landywoods for over 5 years and very rarely had problems with delivery even in bad weather and we are a long way from their base. They turned up with our delivery last week at 5am so really glad it was delivered to the friend I share an order with :-)

I do think a lot depends on where you are. I would ring round and see who will deliver to you before making any decisions. My reason for this is that Albion was not my first choice, but the company I really wanted to order from based on products (some things Albion don't stock), did not get back to me at all.... despite me being not very far as the crow flies from someone on here who does order from them - I was gutted.

So in some cases I do think it depends on established routes for the drivers, and it will pay to check. It will also not hurt to look online for prices as some are a great deal more expensive than others. If money is no object then you have a much larger choice.

personally I use rawtogo - the delivery charge is high as they use couriers but the meat is fantastic quality and mine is always delivered before lunch, the courier will even protect it using my dogs plastic paddling pool if its hot outside. LOL

Same here; I use Raw To Go and am very happy with the quality and delivery. I also use The Dog Food Company and am happy with them too.

We are having to find another place to get our tripe from....phoned Landywoods today & they only deliver once a month to Wiltshire. We are going to be in the process of moving so we only want a smallish amount until we have moved then we can have lots(our normal 80kg's)

I order my tripe and turkey from http://www.ukbarfclub.co.uk/ I've found their service very good.

Thanks for the suggestion....they are expensive at 82 pence per 400g block, we been paying 62p for 454 block & it deffo beef which is what we require. Going to try TPMS tomorrow(no answer at 4pm today??)

I find landywoods excellent, they sometimes don't give an exact day for delivery, they might say either Tuesday or Wednesday but the driver will give you a call to let you know a time, it suits me and the quality of the meat is really good, its not watery slush like AMP tends to be.
- By Lexy [gb] Date 04.10.11 20:27 UTC
Yes, they deliver in our area on 27th of the month...23 days is too long for us to wait for a delivery, sounds good otherwise.

Have used The Dog food Company since I have changed to raw,At first could not get a answer from phone or email, but being persistant I got through & have a good size order delivered every 4 weeks  with no problems ,in fact they now email 2 days before coming to ask what I require this time .They also only charge £5 delivery and as I live 2 hours away from them I think that is brill,
When I got short one month I emailed & asked if I could collect & they met me half way .Great customer relations .Scott is always so nice & cheerfull as well.

Do any of these companies deliver on a Saturday ?

I was having problems with Albion, however I moved back to Berriewoods and the quality of meat after me really inspecting it isn't there, so going to have to look elsewhere now. I'd like to use the DFC, however its the issue with getting in touch with them that puts me off using them, or even trying them..
- By furriefriends Date 05.10.11 06:23 UTC
Yes sue same problem here with dfc. Tried again yesterday, no joy. Funny about albion I have had another delivery and no problems.

Gosh I am really lucky to have such a wonderful local butcher who is only 2 miles away.Shame his prices have gone up from 55p to 70p kilo but still cheap. Can source most things - beef, pork, chicken, offal including lambs hearts, bunnies etc some are more expensive - lamds hearts were £12 for a huge box but he let me have 1/2.I get all my meaty bones, pigs ears and trotters for free and he even gives me chicken and turkey carcasses for free( enough last week for 10 meals). He really is wonderful but such a shame these small family butchers are far and few between.

I've started buying minced green tripe at 30p a pound from my local slaughterhouse near Boston, Lincs. It is bagged as made up by Bulmers foods. I heard that someone at Melton Mowbray sells it delivered for 25p a pound but I have not been able to locate them or find their name. My dogs go beserk when they smell the tripe being prepared with their biscuits for their meals. What I am looking for now is fresh bones. The slaughter house already has someone that picks the bones up daily for their 50 dogs, so I can't get any there. My friend brings me some from her butchers but often by the time she delivers it to me, it is crawling with maggots and slimey and I don't like to feed it to the dogs then. It gives them the trots which then defeats the object of having nice firm stools by raw feeding.

I have my 1st ever delivery from Berriwood's scheduled for delivery tomorrow(Friday).

> I have my 1st ever delivery from Berriwood's scheduled for delivery tomorrow(Friday).

In a similar situation, we will have our first delivery from TPMS next Wednesday. Most surprised that the tripe was 18p a pack(same weight) cheaper than where we were getting it from.

Good luck & let us know if your happy.

I doubt it.

I've never seen one that does.  Is it because you need to be there to load your freezer?  If your freezer is accessible - mine is in the garage - I find my driver is really helpful and happy to load food for me if I'm not home (TPMS).  It's not tidy - so you might need extra room to allow for the haphazard loading style - but at least it won't defrost!
