I've heard of pregnant ladies eating coal but my soon to be scanned (& hopefully pregnant) bitch has eaten half a shoe whilst I was out shopping. Looks like I'm off to Asda tomorrow for replacements before 'im indoors misses them!
I've never had this before - is it unusual?

I have!  :-)  :-)   :-)

My former husband was missing a slipper, and found the back half of it, but the front third of the slipper could not be found.

I was clearing up dog poo in the garden, and found a fully recognisable front of a mans slipper, totally intact, in the middle of a dog turd!

How it came out intact was beyond me, she had no side effects from it at all.  (Did affect me though, he's my ex husband now.)  :-)  :-)

There is actually a condition known as pica which can happen in pregnant humans where they crave non-food items.  So it's entirely possible it happens in dogs.

Was she a little upset on her own? As what she choose could either have been to hand or because(no offence intended) shoes smell very strongly of you!! So maybe a little hormonal sep anx? You know how us girls get at times. But as said before there is a condition called pica that exists in dogs as well as people usually in dogs down to medical influences so get her checked out just in case.

JeanSW!!! Why am I not surprised that ended in divorce?? My hubby knows his place him last kids and dogs first. But at times snowboarding is a close second, he's a skier so we call him "target"!!

i'm not sure if she was upset or had SA. She had the run of downstairs with 2 of my oldies. She's not normally naughty and usually very placid. I think it was just something there 'available' &/or hormonal, but I'm just glad it wasn't my pair of Skechers!
