Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / what should i do,
- By dogs4life [gb] Date 04.10.11 11:53 UTC
i tested my girl with cell count way of finding her right time , was told that she was having a weak season but to mate her straight away , took her to the dog slip mating with not much effort from the male , tried again 2 days later same thing, now 8 days on my castrated male is going nuts for her and she's stood with her tail up in the air , she is now day 23 , should i try to get her back to the stud or just hope the slip mating worked , thanks for any replies

If it was my bitch I'd go back, you've nothing to lose and may get a tie.

Ditto Goldmali,

Get back there now, I will always trust a dogs reactions more so than any scientific test, if both of your dogs are saying yes, listen and get to the stud today. :-)

Agree, successful mating on day 23 is not unheard of - so give it a go you have nothing to loose if she is prepared to stand.

This method (vaginal cytology) of estimating the correct time is not that accurate so I would get her back to the stud.  One of my bitches has never stood before day 19, and happily mated to day 23.

i made arrangments to go back to the stud , but my girl started with a really bad tummy bug , so did not take her back, nevermind  better to be safe than pass any bugs on ,
