Does anyone have any ideas about how to treat sore eyes? There doesn't seem to be a discharge, but the white's look red.

Presumably a dogs eyes rather than yours?!!

It might be something as simple as a bit of dust - have you been out in fields and grasses today? - but I would always get eyes checked by a vet if you're concerned.  If it still looks sore tomorrow give them a ring

My dog has repeat occurrences associated with his allergies and I've previously taken vet advice and have learnt the signs.  However, what works for me and mine might not be appropriate for your dog and taking advice for eye treatment from anyone other than a vet is risky.

Hope it's nothing serious

If you are talking dog then a visit to the vet if a human the doctor before you try anything. Cold tea is often found to be useful and if a human you can use tea bags as cool pads to sooth but red eye whites may be just the colour they are or it could be a symptom of a problem so I say once again get a professional view first.
