Not only has poor Harry been stung by a bee today! :-( He has just encountered his first meet & greet with Spike our friendly hedgehog! And still he's pestering to go in the garden despite having about 10 prickles in his fur! Boys will be boys eh!

He's not had a good day has he? I wonder if he will learn? Our old boy likes chasing wasps and was stung as a pup, still does it 12 years later! He also picks up frogs ( or toads) not sure which and of course they give off something nasty and he froths at the mouth and drools, doesn't stop him doing it again though.

Hope Harry is none the worse for his wildlife adventure :)

My first GSD got stung as a pup and was petrified about 'things that buzzed' to the extent that daughter and I were driving out of the village when GSD suddenly demolished dog guard in boot of an estate car, launched himself across the back seats and buried his head in front seat passenger footwell with body across daughters lap and back end jammed between two front seats, this was a 43kg+ dog..............luckily there was a layby VERY close...........when we stopped we found there was a bee flying round in the boot area
Hope Harry is OK and learns............but not to that extreme

One of my previous SWD's loved bees and he actually brought a couple to me that were still alive, they just buzzed away and didn't sting him.  He used to scare me to death!

My old boy still wont walk on the grass if it's long and/or dark. He will walk around the paved edges. That's 8 years after his hedgehog encounter, big baby! He did stick his nose right in it though!

They are funny arnt they? My first gsd would sit on the ptio amusing hersdelf by snapping and cathing buzzing things regardless of what she would then chew them up with her lips curled back to avoid being stung I presume. She only got stung once in 1 1 years
