Hubby alerted me to a picture in Monday' s newspaper, not naming it but it is Scottish.
There was a picture of 14 puppies which this poor dog had given birth to. The story went something like - Here is Candy, a one year old Dalmation/Doberman cross with her 14 puppies. Her owner couldn't believe it when she just kept popping out puppies all day. She said they didn't know how many were boys or girls as they were just letting mum get on with being a good Mum and that they hadn't intended getting into the dog breeding business but they had found a nice mate and this was the result.
God knows what the father is but this is so wrong on so many counts why publicise the story!

It is infuriating. You get this happen and its still the knowledgeable caring breeders that get bad press. Grrrrr

How on earth do the papers get hold of these stories in the first place !, seems to me the person has phoned up the paper themselves to sell these poor pups. Poor bitch too, just a baby herself and being used as a machine, despicable behaviour.

I agree terrible for the bitch,only just out of puppy herself.Much better if the paper ran a story on how to find a good ethical breeder instead.

When first reading and seeing her age thought this must be an OOP's litter, then to read it was planned made me feel sick, shame on her owner and double shame on the stud owner for allowing their dog to mate with a puppy.

Is there a comment facility to the story?

Just give the area the paper is in and the initials then we can  find it and  email the paper. ...

It is the Scottish national tabloid DR. I've tried to find the story on-line to add a comment but cannot find it. It was this Monday, 26th.

Juat emailed a friend who is a reporter on the DR and let him know of my disgust.

I wonder if someone at the paper has a Dalmatian - there is another same breed unexpected litter story on a video at the papers website dated from April this year

I really can't see what the 'story' is - just what part of it is news?
