Anyone been today and could let me know what the general ground conditions and carpark are like?

Have been there today and the ground was good and dry, BUT there has just been the most horrendous downpour so hopefully as the carpark was nearly empty and most people had gone home it will not have got churned up too much.
Hi, I went today. The ground conditions were very firm - it had been a hot day up here on Thursday, and the morning began bright, but our judging was called off at approx. midday due to a shower and didn't go back outside, (whippets who feel the cold) - the ground was still firm when we left, but on getting back to nearby Leeds, the heavens opened and we had a very heavy rainstorm - not sure if this would have affected nearby Ripon/Darlington show.
The carpark was grass and not at all wet or churned up at this point and parking was easy and within four rows of the entrance (prepaid carpark 1).
There was the slightest of sheep poo in our ring, but nothing too distracting and the grass had been recently mowed, so nice and short.
Having seen that you still have no replies, I hope this helps, and good luck!

Not at the show - but near Durham and the weather is absolutely awful so wet :-(

Am about an hour north, and we have had a tremendous downpour. Just spoken to friends at Witton Castle for the agility show and the are doubtful about ground conditions there.
I'm supposed to be at Witton Castle tomorrow, will probably stay in bed as I've heard it's a quagmire. Fingers crossed the ground at Darlington stays ok as we're there on Sunday.

i'm in ripon and we've had alot of rain so the ground maybe wet for the show tomorrow

the photo I saw was def a quagmire! I forgot to enter, fortunately, if it goes ahead sun and weather ok tomorrow and then I may go for an hour, but not if it's still wet :-(

I think it's expected rain for the next two days so dreading what it will be like on Sunday!

It is definitely cancelled for today, they are hoping it may dry out for tomorrow, but looking at the sky here I would not rely on it too much. Very disapointing as it was the Pug teams first go at the team competition :(

Show is cancelled for tomorrow as well :-( conditions are appalling

Any update on Darlington Ch. Shows ground?
I was there this morning and it was vile. I actually slipped and hurt my ankle but luckily not bad enough to need hospital visit.
I dont know if its brightened up at all because I left as soon as I did my class.
Do I need my wellies?
I remember showing in wellies at Leeds 4 years ago!

I was struggling to decide which shoes to wear as my normal boots are looking very very tatty, wearing wellies would solve all my problems :-D
been there today the ground was soft in places mainly at the main gates in but the ground was firm in car park and around the rings apart from a few bad patches but where the grass had been cut and there were patches of cut grass left and first thing this morning the grass was wet and yes it was slippy under foot but the big working and pastoral breeds showed outside without any issues of footing, all i wore on my feet were my normal flat showing shoes
It was glorious on arrival,if you avoided the odd squidgy patch/puddle but we all had to hurry for cover around 9am. Although we too skidded around the ring our wet weather accommodation was dry beneath the damp grass. I didnt need wellies today even after the downpour but boots for the dogs are a must if,like me,you have a coated breed for that walk from the car park. We left after our breed had finished about noon but it's rained on and off the whole journey home so I would expect it to be worse tomorrow.

Oh well that's made me decide that the pushalong cage is needed tomorrow then :)
