Hi
Puppy is now 12 weeks and all is better but not perfect. We have new problems :)
Both Dobergirls now like puppy and will play - on their terms. The problem is now, if Dobe 2 plays with puppy,
Dobe1 makes horrible high pitched (and I mean high pitched ) yowly sort of barking noises. Is this jealousy?

If Dobe 1 plays with puppy, Dobe 2 looks on and then dives on me as if to say - you play with me!!!
Is this cos they can't all play together?
Is it cos Dobe1 wants to play with Dobe2?

Any ideas and suggestions gratefully received :)

I have found this since my family shrunk to 3, the one not playing either tries to join in (not welcomed) or appoints it's self cheer leader.

This made me laugh Nova, one of my collies dances round the others barking while they play, I shall now always think of her as the cheerleader :-)

I get the same with my 3.  And in addition to the cheerleading, my older bitch often decides humping the other two while they wrestle is the best course of action.  I wonder what would happen if I add a fourth.... :-D

Never had a problem with 4 seems that 2 are happy to sleep whilst others play, it is the one left out that seems to kick up a fuss.

Well, it seems I MUST add a fourth... for their own good :-D

Yes, good idea.

Oh don't get me started, numbers make no difference to this little play phenomenon here!

Main dog-to-play-with is Paige, she's like the cool girl of the lot LOL!  So it goes thus:

Paige + Opi = River poking both with noise and grumbling; Raine shrieking (cheerleader)
Paige + Raine = River poking both with noise and grumbling; Opi shouting (cheerleader/oi why aren't you playing with me?!?)
Paige + Remy = all of the above!!

If Saffi plays (which is just her getting everyone to chase her as she's not too comfortable with the wrestly play the others do), then Opi or Paige chases her; River plays with me; Raine chases whoever's nearest; Remy and Tia look bemused and Soli barks at whoever runs past her.

If no-one is wrestling then usually, Raine will grab one of the cuz toys and start running round with it in a demented fashion getting River to chase her and grump at her (this is fun for Raine!).

I would love to just have 3 for a bit, it would be less chaotic!!

Oh this made me laugh, only a two dog household here but if one is in the bath, the other one cheer leads,it doesn't matter what way round or who goes first, whoever gets a bath second is always totally shocked that its now their turn.
ash.

Possibly a bit of frustration going on rather than jealousy, the odd one out wants to join in but can't ( bit like three people trying to play pingpong ) and does a bit of displacement behaviour/ frustration release by yowling or playing with you.

Tell me about it for some reason Aunty Myka does this when Safi pest (nearly 7 months old) plays with her Mum or great grandmother (rarely grandmother will play with Safi), yet she isn't keen to play with the pest herself.

Oh she resorts to humping one of them also (not the puppy though).
