I wonder if anyone has first hand experience of this breed?
I've come across them a few times in my research for a second breed and wonder what their charcteristics are really like?
I know theres a show coming up in September which I'm hoping to attend but would welcome any first hand knowledge prior to that.
Thanks
Charlie

I only know one, so hardly a representative picture, but she's somewhat nervy, noisy and unreliable with other dogs.

There's a
Polish Lowland Sheepdog that comes to our ringcraft, she's only a puppy (about 4 months), seems to be lovely natured and not phased by the other dogs.
Hi Henri3402
I realised after I posted I put Poland and it should have been Polish

Must say the one that I have seen at the shows have all seemed to have lovely friendly temperaments. We have shared a ring with them on occasion .
What a coincidence I've recently been delving into this breed too, I shall watch this thread with interest. ;-)

I met one 2 Richmonds ago, smitten!
I will also look and learn :).

The only one I met was for grooming, coat was a total nightmare (think cotton wool) but partly that was down to the owner being afraid to touch him, he came with his own "lone ranger mask" (muzzle), he was also noisy and unreliable with people/dogs.
I hope there are much nicer dogs of that breed out there.

there is a member on here called ponsUK who I believe breeds, judges and shows the breed give her a pm she may be able to help ;)
Worked with a nurse few years back who owned 1 for years. She was great with kids, dogs and life in general. Owner had allergy issues with short furred dogs(in fact she was allergic to blood so being a vet nurse was a challenge). Dog eventually died of diabetes which could no longer be controlled with insulin, but she was getting on in years. Can't remember anything seriously odd about her a part from she could come across as stand offish at timesbut I do wonder if she was struggling to see from under her fringe!! Owner replced her with a tibetian terrier and collie cross, but she did love her lowland. Never come across another since that I can think of just now.

I know someone who has had several of these and says
thyroid problems are common.

I groom one and hes quite a nice dog though a bit stubborn. He has older owners and the first time he was so bad I had to clip him all off but they bring him in regularly now for a tidy up. Can be 'selectively deaf' :-) Agree with happy hound girl, he is a little aloof
