Many thanks!

glad to hear they have changed te layout finally (they are one of the most expensive CH show after all!)
Bracing myself for a wet day tomorrow - got my wellies ready!

Loads of people had wellies on but cant say we needed them today.
In the in/out tents there isnt a great deal of non-ring space to watch so you may get wet in any case.

I was quite disappointed that they couldn't even stretch to a BPIB Rosette, and I had to go and buy one from one of the stands in order to have something to commemorate the win, as you don't even get a Card for BP.

lol Barbara......ZTA apologised to me also for awarding my puppy BP but no rosette. Would be much to ask considering the entry fee! The ground was fine today but I reckon if it rains at the weekend then getting into carpark A could be interesting !

Yes my judge too, Eleanor Bothwell ruefully said to me, I can only give you a handshake.
Car Park A will be a mess if they have serious rain as the parking staff appear not to be drivers themselves! They did their usual stellar job of haphazard rows with the only exit route UP the incline and around the top of the field on what even yesterday was slippery grass. Those of us who were in vans and motorhomes with a front wheel drive and a bit of weight in the back could not get enough grip to get out. We had to plead with the gate people to let us out at the bottom on a flat bit and it seemed to be a matter of great concern to take down a bit of tape at the end of a row to let us out!
The rings were good as they were all in / out rings but a long way from any benching. A sign at the entrance and by each tent to say which breeds are in which tent would not go amiss. There was one person early on directing us to the correct tent very early on but by 8.30am he had vanished and people were wandering from tent to tent to find their numbers.

I agree, My baby won Bp and nothing !!! I too went and bought one

Ground ok today, has rained a bit and could do some more possibly. Car park A still being parked too close and having to leave uphill. In out rings good size but not much help in rain as not near benching!

Thought you might have.
Wouldnt be so bad if there was a card(like the cc/rcc or bob) to give out. I know prize cards cost very little(around 10-12pence), surely the society can afford that??

That's what I thought, as otherwise there is nothing to show for the win at all, only the place card in the class, and that might not even be a first if you had no puppy classes or had a pup in Junior due to showing litter mates.

You go to a companion show pay £1 per class - they manage to give you a nice shiny rosette, sometimes a cup or shield too and raise money for charity. You pay £30 for an entry, £5 for a programme & then another £6 or so for the car park not to mention the hundreds of miles you drive - they can't even afford a card. From what I've heard though apparently the judges lunches are lovely :)

I certainly don't think the shabby treatment of exhibitors are going to help the declining entries :(

Must say when I looked at yesterdays results I could not believe how low the entries were and how few specialist judges had been appointed - now I learn about the costs I am surprised they have an entry at all.

Not too bad underfoot on the showground up til when it rained around 2ish. On the way in plenty of people directing us where to go but on the way out queue was from main road back to car park A & not a bod to be seen, took 20 minutes to get out single file, & cars were also trying to go to A for some reason, maybe pickups.
