- By MandyC [gb] Date 07.09.11 17:19 UTC
Hi all,

Well thought i would post some happy news (makes a change for me over the last 18 months)

10 days ago i got my dream and that is my beautiful Harlequin Great Dane :) :) :)

I have waited for the right time and the right dog, she is just fab and is sooo different to my other 2 breeds, very cheeky and just all legs lol.
We have called her 'Lexi'  (Sexy Lexi)
Some of mine really didnt quite know what to make of her at first, i think they thought it was a little calf running round the living room!!! :)

Oh that is SUCH nice news! I used to work for a vet once that bred Great Danes. She had a Harlequin bitch she brought to work with her. She would insist on trying to sit on  my lap! (The bitch, not the vet.) Lovely dog.

Mandy, that really made me smile.  :-)  :-)

I am so pleased for you.  Nice to have a happy occasion at long last.  Facebook won't let me look at your photos, so give Lexi a big, big kiss for me.

Thrilled to bits for you.

Many congratulations, she sounds totally stunning.

I remember you losing a girl the same week I lost my boy and now we both have pups the same week too!!  Hope she brings you many years of joy, as I'm sure she will :)

Oh what lovely news :)

We have two beautiful dane pups at ringcraft although they probably aren't pups now!  and 2 adults - Connor when he first saw them leapt into my arms!  but now he loves them :)

My puppy Safi while on a long line in the Park (she was about 4 1/2 months) screamed with fright when the dog she saw in the distance came ambling over and just grew and grew.

His owners were most concerned about her wimpish behaviour.  He was so good and moved away when she reacted and his little chi friends said hello first, then the Labrador and the Weim, and finally eh came back over rolled on his back and let her sniff him all over (she isn't used to boy dogs) so it was quite funny.

I have met some lovely Danes including a rescue cruelty case that had been burned with cigarettes and lost the end of her tail due to stress chewing.  It was so lovely that she lived to over 13 years of age, somehow made up for her bad early life to have such a long and happy life with her new owners.
