I was wondering how people generally clean up their wooden floors in theirs homes.
Do you just use a damp mop with floor cleaner or would that do damage to the wood, bearing in mind that the floor has been varnished.

My sister has original ( house bit in 1930 ish ) striped parquat (sp) They just wash that with damp mop and bio or similar admittedly its not varnished but I cant see why that would make any difference.
The have been in the house for around 15 years doing that and it looks fine. Any spills and with dog and children there arep plenty she wipes up with mr muscle spray kitchen cleaner.

Congrats on finding somewhere. You can get floor cleaner specifically for wooden floors that you use with a mop and bucket - smells nice too!
