Do any of your bitches go sleepy and seem a bit depressed just before they are ready for mating?

Mine does in her season, she'll sleep a lot through the beginning of it, then after about a week she's much perkier. :)

This is like shes been drugged, started yesterday and continuing today. In house bloods yesterday said she had ovulated 24-48 hours previously but she's still not standing. Waiting for progesterone results some time today. She is day 19.

Mine are very lively at the time of ovulation through to 3days post first mating and then calm down and sleep a lot.

Odd. Around ovulation mine are very lively and continue for several days. 48 hours after ovulation, she should be spot on for mating. If you are worried, when the vets ring to let you know the latest results I would run it passed them and see what they say. I've never known a young, fit dog so sleepy and dopey I would discribe it as 'drugged'. Definatly run it passed the vets just to put your mind at rest. She doesn't have a discharge or anything does she?
