My bitch is 15months and although her first season is looming(all the signs are there), she hasn't actually had it yet but she has started some pecular behaviour. She will 'baby' anything, and I mean anything, from toys/dolls to shoes. She will run upstairs and pick her 'baby' then bring it down to either the front door mat or the sofa where she will sit beside it, watching and looking at it intermittently. She never chews or plays with the items, just sit next to them. Could she be having a phantom without having a season? Is it just hormones? Should I ignore or change her behaviour? At first we found it amusing that she is such a little mummy but now it's getting weird!!

Her whole personality has changed into a little lady(instead of a mad pup!) and her bits have started enlarging and sagging slightly when she gaits. I have been checking daily for a while with a white tissue in the mornings(we have an entire male) and I am sure I've not missed a season. I'm experienced with this breed and know it takes a loooonnnngggg while for the season to come as a pup but I've never experienced the 'phantom' behaviour before a season.
Also, should add that I have males around who would let me know if she had experienced a silent season or indeed a light season, but nothing. Not one male has been interested in her in the slightest.
