You could always try Staysure. I've used them for my Mum a few times but luckily have never had to claim................which is the time you know if they are good or not !.

Which particular country are you going to? I ask because you can buy "top-up" health insurance for visiting France and existing health problems are covered. We visited France for a last holiday when my OH was terminally ill and we were unable to get any insurance cover for him at all but did find a company that topped up the cover given by reciprocal agreements with the EU to equal that we would have had in the UK. The cost was £15 and all his medical conditions were covered. It didn't include medical repatriation to the UK but we would have been able to get free health care if we had needed it whilst in France. I have the link saved somewhere on my computer and will look it out if it is of help to you.

ETA - found it :-)

Visiting my Sister in Spain, have the ETA Health card, if I can find it, but I am concerned about being brought home if that should be needed.

My dad used Saga for his insurance  - he was 71 at the time.  You can do a comparison quote here to have a closer look at benefits

Have a good trip :)

If you have a particular condition that may cause a problem it might be worth looking to see if there is a support group website for that particular condition. If so there are sometimes recommendations from members on there who have had the same problems with obtaining travel insurance and they may well be able to recommend a particular travel insurance firm they have dealt with before.
