I gave my dog lightly cooked chicken after she was spayed. She was so much better the next day she was back on her usual raw food :) :)

thanks can't imagine her getting up at the moment even for food!! she wont even lift her head when we leave the room :( we picked her up at 6 !! she had her op around 3!! when should i try and get her too eat?

Had my girl done yesterday - she had her op first thing yesterday morning and picked her up at 4. she slept most of the evening so didn't want anything to eat - she just had her usual bonio at bedtime and has eaten as normal today.

I would try a scrambled egg with cheese at about 9pm as it is won't lie heavily in her stomach over night and give her something to prevent her wretching up bile in the early hours due to hunger/low blood sugar and causing pain in her wound area.
By tomorrow she should be back to normal, just prevent jumping etc.

After my girl had an op a few weeks ago I cooked up some brown rice and fish for her, she did have this for a few days because she had something removed from her mouth and needed soft food. After that she was back on the normal raw food.

I raw feed too but it's always boiled chicken and rice for poorly dogs or post op. Or some plain scrambled egg (no milk or butter).

I've had 3 girls done over several years and they've all been different post op.
One came walking out of the vet's as thought nothing had happened and was ready to eat walk and play straight away, one was very sad and drowsy and not interested and one was reasonably active but did not want to eat.
All of them had a tiny bit of Chappie as their first eats and had no problems.
Even though you feed raw as a rule I think either a bit of Chappie or boiled chicken or scrambled egg would be fine until she is ready for her usual diet
If she's interested in food then there is no reason she cannot go straight back onto raw (it is easily digestible) but feed it minced for a while
My dogs are raw fed and one had an op a couple of weeks ago. He refused all food for 36 hours and only started eating when I offered fish4dogs salmon mousse. That's always his 'get well' food of choice!!
