In or around the Bristol area?

Thankyou.

Which area of Bristol? My daughter lives in Bristol with her golden.

Quite a few good ones in the Bristol area, but will very much depend on exactly where you are.  If you could be more specific, it would help, as we have several dog people in Bristol on CD.

Ask Brainless- she is in Bristol.
I would think a lot depends on which part of Bristol you live, as the area is very large.... I think it's now considered a County in its own right.

Hi, I am living in Pucklechurch at the moment, but I don't mind travelling and would prefer a small practice if possible.

Thanks.

I used a small veterinary practice in Westbury on Trym, they are orthopaedic specialists and my dog was sent their for his cruciate operation (he ended up doing both of his legs) I found them to be very nice, handled by boy well and gave very sensible advice.  They were extremely helpful on any aftercare and even phoned me months down the line to see how he was getting - as at this point my vets and hydrotherapy were looking after my dog hence why they hadn't continued to see him.

I've googled "veterinary practice near pucklechurch" and a few came up.  The one I recognised as having an extremely good reputation was Avenue Vets.  I hadn't heard of the others, but I like to use the bigger vets, as they have such fantastic operating theatres.  And are more likely to carry out their own out of hours.  I won't use a vet that doesn't cover 24/7 every day of the year.

The smaller vets listed may well suit your needs.  Pucklechurch actually comes under South Gloucestershire, and Avenue comes under Bristol (Avon), however, they are very close.

Like JeanSW I think that 24/7 cover and good 'hospital' facilities is really important and it's well worth adding this to your research.

I live south of Bristol and use a small branch of Golden Valley Vets (sadly too far to be practical for you) in Clevedon.  However, their hospital (manned 24/7) is in Nailsea and only 9 miles from me so still very easy in an emergency.  If I'm ever really worried I just go straight there and that journey takes app 20 minutes, even in traffic.  Ideally you wouldn't really want it to take much more than 30 minutes so it might be sensible to factor in travelling times too when choosing your vet

Hope you find someone :)

Agree - another vet practice that I am familiar with as part of my job.  Golden Valley have a very good reputation.  :-)
