I suspect the problem is that at the moment inthe UK we can't do money transactions in Euros. A debit card I guess is similar to a cheque or direct online bank to bank payment. I usually do online euro entries with my credid card which works fine but you do get a credit card fee for exchange rate.
You
can send enty fee using international money transfer but the charges are wicked ... the shows bank details are on the bottom of the paper entry form. You need to go into bank with their bank info IBAN No NL89ABNA0589821911 AND BIC/SWIFT No ABNANL2A Name of account ls - Winner, Maassluis and give you dogs KC reg no as reference so the show can marry your payment to your entry.
Personally I would email secretary and tell her whats happened, it would be easier if she could delete your first entry attempt from the online system and the enter online again and pay by credid card as the exhange rate fees will be a lot less than an international money transfer. You never know she may even let you pay the fee atthe show in cash - the dutch are VERY helpful in my experience

Thanks for that i will see what i can do but i have sent about 4 emails and so far had no reply

I usually get quick reponses for the Dutch show management teams :( This is the email for questions re entries/payments winner@cacib.nl but if you don't get an answer you could try the general email on info@winnershow.nl At least you have plenty of time - first registration closing date isn't until 22 september. so hopefully you can get it sorted before price goes up !!

Just been mooching about the show website .. all is not lost. It looks like there may be a chance you can pay atthe show or by credit card but the system isn't active yet. Looks like this has been done for people who want to send paper registration form ( probably if dogs are for Ch/ Working class and thus need copy of Ch/ Work certificate with enrty as prooof of eligibility) but you might be able to use this facility once its activated. Click entry and payment then info on payment
copied from page :: Payment at the show is not possible (Unless a special arrangement has been made and confirmed by mail or post by the organization).
Payment by credit card is possible, even if you have not entered online. Go back to the main menu and choose option Payment and then credit card form.
K
Thing is they sent me an email 2 days ago saying that they had received my entry and had dogs names and class no,s down but payment had failed ,so do i fill in all that paperwork out online again or do i just go to payments?
just been on their site pressed payment with card and it just comes up saying info will follow shorly but its been saying that all day,i even tried to phone but it was in dutch and i think it was just an answer machine

Wouldn't want to do full entry again or they may have you registered twice and bill you twice !! Would wait and see if they respond to your email re payment. The email you had re failure of payment could have been autogenerated ??
Hopefully you will get an email from someone soon telling you how to pay .. hopefully the credit card payment service will be up and running online soon so keep checking.
Sure it will get sorted !!
K
thanks for your help will keep on trying i do have a friend in holland so will try and contact her and see if she can help

Could your friend pay the entry fee to the show bank using the bank no on entry form/web page ?? This wouldn't incur fees for international money transfers and you could then refund your friend :)
K
YIPEE i think im entered now and have had confirmation by email although its in dutch i can make out they have taken payment and checked with my bank to make sure
Its a bit daunting when you havent done it before and other countries do run their shows different to ours
i was hoping to find out what time our breed would be on but cant find it
then i will know what ferry to book as they only go at 9pm and dock in rotterdam 9 am well i think its 1 hour away to the show but must allow for going wrong as driving on opp side of the road
also need to find out about tick and tapeworm as havent done that before either ----BUT
HAVE GOT PASSPORTS AND RABIES VAC UP TO DATE
Ithink i,l be a nervous wreck by then !!!!

Order of judging will be posted late .. often only a week before the show. I usually go from Harwich to Hoek of Holland the day before the show, book hotel in Amsterdam and travel back on night ferry after the show. It takes about 1hrs to drive from Hoek to Amsterdam so night ferry on Sat is cutting it fine ( docks 7.45am) as judging usually starts at 9am, traffic around the RAI is busy from about 8am. Plus unless you arrive early it can be impossible to find a free cage ( bench) as they are first come first served. Space in hall is tight. So I plan to arrive Sat am ( fri night ferry which docks at about 8am) have a nice walk with the dogs in park at Hoek, pop into coffee shop then drive up to hotel. After I have checked in I walk up to RAI and get pet passport stuff done on Sat afternoon so I can travel home on Sun night ferry from Hoek.
From you post I wonder if you are planning to go from Hull ? The crossing is very long on that route - you have to be onboard from 7.30pm and ship doesn't dock until 8.15 am = almost 13hrs. From experience it can take 30 - 40 mins to clear post customs checks so arrival 8.15 - out of port by 8.45 .. walk the dog ..15mins. you wouldn't be on road until at least 9am so not at RAI until 10am ( not allowing for unfamilarity / taking a wrong turning ). I am in North West and Hull is MUCH closer for me but I find the Harwich crossing much better for Holland. Onboard about 11 pm and off by about 8am -8.15am.
Have a look and think about your route . Personally I think its a tad close to the wind to make the show from the night ferry ..... its a lot of £ to loose if you we to miss your class PLUS you wont enjoy it if your stessed !!
K
youve been so helpfull can i ask a bit more?
i am showing on the sunday so then like you will be better to arrive sat morning
when is it best the if we return on sunday night to get the tick and tapeworm done?
and are the hotels exspensive ? and will they take 2 dogs ? thanks

Morning :)
I will aim to arrive Sat am ( harwich ferry docks 8am approx) , I usually email show management as let them know I would like to go into the show on the SAT afternoon to see the vet for passports and this has never been a problem. Vet is available from 2pm, and charges last time I were 10 euros ( took my own meds). If passport is done after 2pm Sat you are between the min 24 and Max 48hrs time frame for check in on way home. I use night ferry from Hoek on Sunday night after the show ( last check in 9.30pm). Takes about 1hrs to drive down from RAI and group are usually done by 6.30pm . ( if your lucky enough to get that far !!)
Hotels -- lots of hotels take dogs. I tend to book rooms at Holiday Inn or Novotel which are about 5 - 10min walk to venue. They both have parking ( expensive) but it means I don't have to pay to park at RAI on Sat and Sunday. Parking is difficult in Amsterdam .. by afternoon RAI car park is usually full and parking in the local area difficult to find. Parking meters on streets but hard to find a spot. Do a search on Booking.com - novotel is about 99 euros / holiday Inn 126 euros. Camanille is about a 10 min drive away and is about 76 euros BUT you would have to drive up on the sat and factor in the extra parking charges for both days.

Forgot to say .. Amstel park is just accross the road from holiday inn / novotel for dog walking and behind Camanille is another great park for walks :)

when going to see vet on the saturday will i have to pay to get in ? do i need to take any other documents? do i need the dogs k/c reg cert? must remember to get chip checked before i go as was going to paris and went to get the dogs eyes tested at crufts and chip had stopped working so we had to redo microchipping again and have all documents changed and all his health cert and have rabies done again which the 6 months is up in september WHAT A NIGHTMARE!1!

I usually email show management as request to enter the show on Sat, never had to pay to get in on Sat but I take my entry documents ( passes) as proof of being an exhibitor.
The vet at the show will only need your passport and meds - they may charge . 10 euros last time I was showing there.
There is no "vetting in" as such in Holland but the vet stands on the door and may pul you over for a random check. I have all my routine vaccinations in my passport but if yours are not recorded there I would take Vaccination Certificate as well. All exhibits must have up to date vaccinations for distemper, parvo etc etc
Belt n braces stuff :: In my overseas doc kit I generally carry photocopies of KC reg, Microchip reg, 5 gen certified pedigree, & champion certificates. Never needed them yet BUT I have them just in case :) Also carry telephnone number of Quarantine kennel JUST in case anything should go wrong with chip, passport etc. Would opt to travel home and get it all sorted out at home rather than be stuck in Europe. I always check chip is ok before setting off and my wonderful vet lets me take one of his scanners as back up. Never once had a problem with chips, paperwork, scanners BUT I like to be prepaired.
What a nightmare you had with the passport !! Well you MUST make up for it all now and have a wonderful trip to Amsterdam. It is a lovely show and the Dutch are very welcoming. Have to say I don't think you missed much in Paris - quite the worst international event I have visited

I alway go from Harwich. It takes me a good 4hrs to drive down ( we are just outside Bury Lancs) but the crossing time is good, access to port either side is excellent. Just book my crossing - one van based car, two cabins two dogs £338. If you go via Harwich let me know, we stop at a lovely pub close to Harwich for a meal before we board and on landing park up at Hoek Station to takes dogs for a walk in the park - you would be welcome to join us :)
K
so when you say van based car is it smaller in height than renault trafic which ive measured at 1.9 m

Are you trying to book by phone or online? You say Hull is only 2.5 hours and Harwich 4.5 hrs from you. The Hull - Rotterdam crossing is so long you would actually save time going Harwich to Hook of Holland. About 6 3/4 hours to Hollad via Harwich but 10 hours Hull - Rotterdam. And the drive time to Leeuwarden from Hook or Rotterdam has only minutes difference.
If you have Tesco club card points you can use them towards Stena ferry tickets.

HAven't read all the replies so sorry if I'm repeating someone else but it may be because you used a debit card. If you contact your bank they will be able to tell you if you can make overseas payments on your account. If not you may need to try again using a credit card. Good luck ;-)
> drive time to Leeuwarden
Sorry getting Euro Winner show mind set. Should have said Amsterdam drive time!
