Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / strange behaviour!

hi, i don't know if anyone can help my friend who has had a staffi for over four years, the dog 'brockie' has started to act very strangly around her brother - who has had a close relationship with brockie over the years, ofetn taking him for walks and looking after him if my friend is out for the day - but recently when my friends brother visits - brockie, who would have been behaving normally will suddenly starts running around, trying to hide in cupboards, crying, won't go anywhere near her brother and is in obvious distress and only calms down when the brother leaves. brockie was taken for a check up at the vets - nothing was found.
this is very distressing to both my friend and her brother and they have run out of ideas as to what could be causing brockie's distress - we've thought about the possibility of his mobile phone giving out a high frequency sound, but that wasn't the problem.

i'm sure she would be very grateful if anyone out there could suggest any possible causes or solutions

many thanks

Has the brother any strange marks on his body - moles etc. I have heard of some dogs acting strangely around people with skin growths - very unlikely but something to think about if they have always got on well before

Can your friends brother think of anytime when the dog may have been frightened by something in his prescence which the dog may now associate with the brother?
