- By gofaster [gb] Date 17.08.11 15:30 UTC
not really sure the rules on showing a docked dog, my sister has two Hungarian Vizsla the 17th month girl has been docked(has papers) can she been shown at open shows? and her other girl is Irish Bred 3 yr old docked no papers can she be shown at open shows??

> 3 yr old docked no papers can she be shown at open shows??

As this one has no papers it cant be shown at any KC event which includes matches. The only place it can be shown in UK is at companion shows
- By gofaster [gb] Date 17.08.11 15:42 UTC
sorry i meant she is KC reg but no docking papers if this makes sense?
- By Nova Date 17.08.11 16:25 UTC
The one with docking paperwork can be shown at shows where the public do not pay to enter, that would be most open shows but those held in conjunction with a agricultural show often charge so they are not allowed, some Championship shows charge others do not but the schedule always says.

Dogs that are not legally docked can't be shown at all.

If the dog was born in the Irish Republic, docking is still legal there. It should still be allowed to be shown at shows where the public do not pay an admission fee.

Yes, it is only illegally docked dogs that can't be show, one assumes the dog would require to have a KC registration or an ATC no. and proof that it was docked in Eire.
- By gofaster [gb] Date 17.08.11 17:35 UTC
i think she will just show the English bred girl, does she have to take the docking paperwork to a show?
- By Nova Date 17.08.11 17:50 UTC
Would send a copy with the entry and take one with you to give to the steward so they can advise the judge should they ask.

You can show both these dogs as both are legally docked. One in UK with DEFRA paperwork and one legally docked in country of birth. You DO need to apply for permission to show, write to KC and give dogs details and for UK dog send a copy of DEFRA papers, not 100 % on rule for the IKC reg dog re neededing permission to show as it is an import from a counrty where docking is legal ( thus a legally docked dog)  BUT you DO need to apply for KC registration for this dog as an import as it is resident in UK. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/366   The ATC number is for dogs living overseas ONLY. Would email the KC and ask if you also need permission to show the IKC dog as its an import but once it has KC reg would probably do so .. belt n braces.

No requirement to send docking certificates with show entries but would carry a copy and permision to show letter in case quesstioned at an event

thanks Klb  the Irish dog has Uk papers as an import, my sister did that when she came over.  any one know of a show coming up at Ardingly South of England show ground that we can enter.
- By suejaw Date 18.08.11 08:28 UTC
There will be a fair amount of open shows coming up at Ardingly.
Here are a few links for schedules or you can pick them up normally from a local ringcraft, which one do you normally attend?

Another link for ardingly shows  http://www.ejcprint.co.uk/

Horsham is also coming up - think you just missed Eastbourne - South of England gundog Club is in November.

Is Maidstone too far as there are some coming up there too.
- By rachelsetters Date 18.08.11 08:55 UTC
Meant to add EJC print also do a show calender on the front so that might help you identify some shows - as long as the public don't pay an entry fee you are fine to enter - and most shows at Ardingly don't - the exception to this is when its part of the Spring or Summer Fayre that they hold there - but that's only twice a year.

good luck and might see you there :)

Sue Racheal heeellp ! :) oh yes she is 6th months on the first day of Richmond hence why I made this rash desion :):)
struggling with cidweb atm when do beckenham entries close ?
- By rachelsetters Date 19.08.11 09:01 UTC
No panic on Beckenham - send me your email and I'll send the schedule / entry form to you - a while yet I think?

I will be at Richmond same day :) :) but probably mostly at the JHA ring!  hoping not to have a clash with Connor's breed class!  unlikely but can dream - so once that's finished I'll be hunting you down.  Connor was due to make his debut at 6m on the day at Richmond 4 years ago :) but a cut pad meant with we didn't end up showing - but he sat ringside and chilled all day!

Anything you need just shout !
- By rachelsetters Date 19.08.11 09:11 UTC
Beckenham doesn't close until 7th September - postal and 19th September for online - on the homepage got to forthcoming shows and then scroll down to vew.

Coulsdon at Ardingly closes Monday - have AVNSC Gundog puppy class and an AV Minor Puppy Bitch class.- quite a nice show normally :) again on CIDWEB.

Remind me to introduce you to some friends at Richmond with FCR so you will know someone at both ch and open shows too :)

EJC is only giving a few downloadable schedules and then there are no other details to obtain schedules on there, help!!!
- By rachelsetters Date 20.08.11 07:22 UTC
Yes it is only a few schedules - Sue what schedules do you need?

They provide a calendar service only which at least is a start - as prodogs are stopping :(  hopefully they may expand I guess to give links to the schedules?
- By suejaw Date 20.08.11 09:27 UTC
I'll call you as far too many to type up on my phone ;-)
