We are looking for a Yorkshire Terrier puppy, can anybody help! Due to work and holiday commitments we are not intending to select a puppy until July 2003, so am looking for a reputable breeder with all credentials. We do not wish to have a long haired dog, we are looking for a short haired Yorkie, and have no intentions of showing or breeding. Can you help email: webbs@cnll.fsnet.co.uk (Hampshire)

Hi Guest,
If you're looking for a 'short-haired' Yorkie, you will be sorely disappointed. Yorkies have hair like people do. It means it keeps growing and doesn't have a shedding (moulting) cycle like the majority of dogs. It's not that difficult to keep trimmed short with scissors, especially along the belly area where a lot of tangles occur :)
The benefit is a dog that's rather easy to care for, imo. No shedding hair to pick up around the house and the likelihood of having problems with allergies tends to be decreased.
best wishes,
toodles

How about a Jack Russell/Parson Russell? They have short hair. Or a smooth fox terrier?
