We had a rally obedience trial down in Sussex at the weekend, nearly turned round and went home as the weather was so foul, but with the aid of some liver cake persuaded the girls that it was worth their while to sit on the wet grass. Young Hetty did pretty well, first time out of the puppy classes into level 1 trials and did 2 nice rounds. But Ellie was my superstar, 2 great rounds, got the last 2 scores she needed to make her a level 1 Rally Champion!! First in the breed in the UK, too, not that many Cavs compete in rally, no idea why as it's ideal for them! Anyway, I'm very proud of both my girls, and now it's on to level 2! :-)

Well done.I will have to look out for some Rally O competitions as I am not completely sure what it entails.

It's great fun - like obedience but with a little course laid out like agility, with stations where you have to do recalls, left turns, weaves etc. Level 1 is all on lead, level 2 has food bowl distractions and jumps. And it's less fussy about perfect heelwork / turns etc, as long as the dog is on a loose lead and not being pulled along. :-) There are plenty of BSD doing it, though mostly Tervurens that I've seen.
