Hi all - wondered if anyone was planning on attending Sedgefield Open Show this Saturday - would be nice to try and meet up with some fellow CD people and swap advice/ stories etc

Depending on the weather, I should be at Hare n Hounds show at Barnard Castle but as it's just down the road I may pop there briefly, but forecast doesn't look very good

Forecast for Saturday is sunny up here but I am a bit worried about the amount of rain coming down over last few days (and still coming).  Does anyone know if they have Marquees or is it just open rings - only reason I ask is because my friend went to the show last year (not showing) and she thought the dog shows were under cover but the photos on the show's website show outside pics of the dog show.

hi i live 15 mins from sedgefield would be normally entered but not this year due to family health issues, i was just thinking today that i was glad i had not entered, yes there is a tent but it is the inside rings as well as the secretary, area for judges, teas coffee etc, to be blunt if you are going to be there to show get there for about 8.30 as there is about 6 foot wide area for cages along the long side of the tent as well as everyone wanting to reach the rings pushing past, the showfield is a bowl with the dogs on one side on top of the bank with the car park going down the banks, horses livestock in the bottom of the bowl, all entrances are grass gate entrance with about 3 foot of stone down if the ring side parking is full you then park in the adjactent field again on grass hope this helps

Thanks corgilover - shame you're not going but thanks for the advice - I was planning on getting there early - this is also our first proper show so wasn't sure of everything and thought getting there early would be best.  Hoping weather forecast is right for once :)

WE had a fantastic day - the rain held off - although it got quite grey and windy at one point - my darling pup came second in her breed class, and won the group puppy class YAY - my youngest daughter also came second in the junior handler class - we really only expected to get some experience today so to come away with rosettes was amazing - I am so proud of them both.
