My 3 year old gsd just been diagnosed with epilepsy.  Would like to hear from anyone who lives with dog with epilepsy.  He has only been diagnosed a week ago so we are taking everything easy but I would like to know if we can live normal life after the first few weeks, regarding exercise, playing, training, etc..

We had a Bernese with it some years ago (RIP Jodie) she was on epilem for most af her life and had very few fits but it did rather take the edge off her, however she live a pretty full if sedate life and we lost her at 10 1/2 (Great age for a Bern). I would do it again as I don.t think it affected her quality of life but she was never a race around kind of girlie. She could manage long walks and had her fun in her own way. Things may well have moved on with the drugs now as we lost her some 12 years ago now.
Cetainly worth getting the drugs sorted and see how things go I am sur you will find it easier to cope wiht that you may think at the moment. However that is just one case and others may have different tales to tell.

The medications does tend to make them a bit tired, so you may well find less exercise is wanted -I let the dog choose. That's if your dog needs medication? Not all do.
