Adult £8.95
Child £2.95
Members age concession rate £6.30
Members family deal £22.55
Non member fee per pitch per night £7.10
Member back packer £6.30
Non member back packer £7.95
club service pitch per pitch per night £3.55

Hello Tracey,  I think that you would pay £8.95 x2 =£17.90, plus £7.10 per night.  So that would be £25.00 per night.
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 09.08.11 20:17 UTC
Ooh and there was me thinking it was £3.75 a night! Glad I checked. Didnt realise they were so expensive! If I was a member how much cheaper would it be?
- By Charlie Brown [gb] Date 09.08.11 20:25 UTC
Hi Tracey That would just be 2 x £8.95 = £17.90 per night £125.30 for 7 nights.

Works out alot cheaper to be a member especially if you use CCC sites more than once a year.
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 09.08.11 20:47 UTC
Yeah we were thinking of being members. Ive heard the camping and caravan club would be more approriate for us as the caravan club is a bit more upmarket apparently?!? :-)
- By Sawheaties [gb] Date 09.08.11 21:11 UTC
Hi, not sure what you are looking for site wise but I can pm you several good websites to find things from. Personally I like the cl ( certified location) which are normlly smller and cheaper but may not have the facilities ( we hve our own) and I am a great fan of the AO ( adults only! :) )
Let me know if you want  pm
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 09.08.11 21:11 UTC
Well, we belong to both but we prefer the Caravan Club because the sites are of a higher standard in general.  It would be worth joining though as the reduction you get in site fees will pay the yearly membership in a very short time (a week or so). As we have a motorhome (you can't drive around as easily in a motorhome as you can in a car) we find that the Caravan Club sites are more conveniently situated than the Camping and Caravanning club sites.  The Caravan Club cannot be that 'upmarket' if they allow us to be members!  :)  :)

I think that it would be more than that as there would be the £7.10 per night site fee to pay as well. :)

But when they are members it will only be £3.55 per night for the pitch won't it? So £21.45pn

I think you are right chaumsong.  She'll save £24.85 in just a week of the approx £38 annual membership.

Yes please sawheaties, pm me with more info. Im addicted to looking at caravan sites. Our first trip out was at white pump farm, basically a field with a hook up and we loved it!
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 10.08.11 05:54 UTC
Tracey, if you join the Caravan club or the C. and Caravanning Club, you will be sent a big book listing all the sites and Certificated locations (the smaller, cheaper places to camp) in the U.K.
- By donnabl [gb] Date 10.08.11 10:56 UTC
The other plus point for the Caravan Club is that you don't pay for the dogs!  This works out much cheaper than many other sites where you have to pay a certain amount per dog.  Most sites also have good dog walk areas.
- By bestdogs Date 10.08.11 11:48 UTC
I find it pays me to be a member of both clubs. Dogs welcome and free and as donnabl says, most club sites have a dog walk on or nearby.

If you follow this link              http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/          you can have a wonderful time reading reviews of all types of sites all over the uk and abroad!

Ah well...you'll have to get one then, so that you can take it camping without paying for it!  :)  :)

I find it really difficult to book a Caravan Club site......the ones I've chosen have always been fully booked especially over weekends. The Camping and Caravanning Club I can usually get in weekends and at short notice and I have found them to be a very similar standard for cleanliness etc.
I think it's probably because the Caravan Club doesn't ask for a deposit when you pre book so it doesn't matter if you don't actually turn up.

I usually book on line.  If you book a Caravan Club site and then don't turn up, they have recently introduced a 48 hour cancellation system whereby your future bookings could be terminated if you consistently don't give 48 hours notice.  The Camping and Caravanning club take a small deposit but if you have to cancel the booking, you don't get the deposit back, however, they will transfer the money to another time.   Personally, I find the Caravan club's sites superior to the C&C.Club.  We belong to both clubs.  I do get annoyed though if I try to book a site and full weeks are not available because the sites have been fully booked just for two nights over the weekend.  I can't see any way for them to get around this though.
- By Charlie Brown [gb] Date 10.08.11 20:22 UTC
I didn't know they had introduced the 48 hr rule. Perhaps it'll help free up some of the weekends? I'm sure some people block book weekends at popular sites just in case they want to go.
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 10.08.11 20:28 UTC
Sometimes a site appears booked on line but if you ring the site direct, they 'squeeze' you in!  :)
- By Charlie Brown [gb] Date 10.08.11 20:30 UTC
Oh that might be worth a try then.

I really fancy Clumber park but it's always booked up.
- By Oldilocks [gb] Date 10.08.11 20:42 UTC
Never been there!  :)
- By Sawheaties [gb] Date 10.08.11 21:11 UTC
Just so you know some friends had a problem with a jobs worth dog hater at Clumber Park, not sure if he is still there though!
- By Tracey123 [gb] Date 11.08.11 11:10 UTC
Clumber park is only 2 minutes from me! Lovely walks through clumber.

You're right Charlie Brown, my mother does that all the time
- By Charlie Brown [gb] Date 11.08.11 20:53 UTC
Believe it or not I've been trying for 2 years to book this site and can't get in. Another one I would like to go to is Chatsworth House caravan site and can't get into that one either.

I'm not going to join the Caravan Club next year it's just too frustrating to find a site I really like and then can't book it!

You'd think with a name like Clumber Park they'd be a bit more dog-friendly - I could be wrong but isn't that the place Clumber Spaniels originated?

The on-line bookings open around the 8th of December for the following year usually!  :)
