Don't think I have a pic showing his eye but you can see him on my website:

Thank you :)

Is your boy red? I'm unable to see photobucket photos from work but I'll take a look when I get home

Dont get too hung up on the unpigmented inner eyelid.

You mentioned it, most likely because it was pointed out to you when you had him assessed.
Given that the most influential names in the pedigree you gave, are European /Spanish /Dutch dogs and that he seems to have a very continental type head...ie short and deep muzzle with high set ears...it was important to point out that...
those who would appreciate that type are generally the ones who will not tolerate an unpigmented eye.

Gemma's dog ( who I like a great deal) is more UK type- Roamaro I believe. A combination of UK and Australian ( which is ultimately UK through G.Skittles).

The lack of eye pigment doesnt bother me unduly and I would not penalise an otherwise excellent dog for it.

Glad you like the website Gemma, there are a few errors but it is still a good reference with lots of excellent photos.

I especially like the construction drawings, so much better than the 'usual'.

We are all set for ringcraft classes :) I contacted the secretary of my local club and me and Leon are very welcome to come. All I need now is to get a show lead and start practicing!

Gemma,

Re. The unpigmented eye, it all comes down to the judge - some hate it, some can just about forgive it on a very good dog & some it doesn't bother one bit.
I have just made up my first champion and he has an unpigmented eye but he is an excellent dog (if I do say so myself he he he)

Your boy has an absolutely stunning outline & was so pleased for you when he was made up at blackpool. I recon if he was doubly pigmented he would be walking all over most of the males out there now.

Boxer101, I recon Gemma's dog has been penalized because of his unpigmented eye when he shouldn't have been but just shows how much quality he does have to win over doubly pigmented dogs.

I have uses Hessonite leads in the past http://www.petcetera.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=hessonite showing my boxers but am strongly thinking about using a kangaroo leather lead for my new boxer baby hopeful.

Hope you have fun x

Excellent, best place to start is your local club.
If you go to the show in Belfast this weekend there should be stalls there selling show leads etc so first of all get there early, you can then see the boxers being judged & see the type of collars/leads being used then you can go buy one :)

Thank you tooolz :) Yes he is pretty much Roamaro but not actually bred by Mandy.

Yes those that will like the continental type will not forgive the eye, I had an Italian in Ireland tell me Razzle was the best there but he had to grade him only very good because of the eye. I never think badly of a judge for being unable to forgive it, we all have our little pet hates.
And if someone can't accept anothers opinion then they shouldn't be showing.

Hi,

Did you manage to go along to the show the other weekend :)
- By Boxer101 [gb] Date 09.08.11 16:26 UTC
No , I had to go to a horse show instead to help out :(
- By Gemma86 [gb] Date 10.08.11 08:56 UTC
Thats a shame, do try and make the shows being held there on the 24th/25th September, there will be approx 100 boxers as alot of UK exhibitors travel over (maybe more) I'll be there so please feel free to come say hello :)
