went to the park as usual with my 19 week bc pup and as we were walking past the stream she looked at it and i thought she would do her usual dip 1 poor in the water and run away but no, she ran and SPLASH, she absolutley loved it, cuttest thing ive seen in a long time especially when she kept chasing the splashing she was making, just thought id share, do your dogs like swimming?????? please share

My dog spends his life in and out of water and will swim whenever he gets the chance :-) Today at the woods he managed to find a deep rut made by a tractor and came out looking as though he was was wearing black waders. I live 5 minutes walk from the beach and he gets to swim most days all year round.

Our other dog is not so keen on the water and will paddle if he has to but rarely swims.

I have a BC from rescue and her first trip to the seaside was daunting for her. She was terrified of the waves and used run away from them. Nine years later and she loves the sea or anything that looks remotely wet. Many times ive taken out a black & white dog and returned with a black dog if she has found a thick sludgy puddle.
One of my favourite memories was when we were on holiday in Wales. She jumped in a stream with her beloved tennis ball, laid down in the water to have a wallow then horror of horrors she had forgotten where she left her ball. It had been carried away up stream. Oh and did she howl! Now i always take a spare.

My GSD's dont' get to swim but love wallowing in a paddling pool or catching the water from a fountain.

My BC litter were all splashing around in their paddling pool at 6 weeks old :)
