Thanks so much to everyone who helped me with info about travelling to Sweden with my bitch for breeding when I was asking a few months ago.  I couldn't have found much of the appropriate information regarding their requirements without a couple of you, and others who also put my mind at ease about travelling through the tunnel and the journey itself.

She came in 5 weeks late (she's ALWAYS on time within one week) which meant after 2 rearrangements of hubby's holidays he was able to drive across with me, but had to leave after a few days to fly home to go back to work.

Luckily the dog is owned by a long-time online friend so it really was a holiday as much as it was a breeding.  We chose to travel rather than AI because by the time you added the cost it wasn't too much more to travel and at least we'd have some memories if it didn't work out.

My girl was an absolute STAR on the trip aside from the fact that she and her auntie decided to go on a bit of a hunger strike halfway through.  But all went well and I drove home alone holding my breath.

Breath has continued to be held for 4 weeks and today we did the scan and there are definitely babies in there and for the first time in weeks I feel like I can breathe again.  So now on to the next stress - will there be enough total and enough of the right sex for the ones I have booked!!  I can't decide if it would be more stressful to have a breeding with only a couple booked and have to find homes or to have too many booked and not enough...

Okay - the first is probably more stressful, but I'm definitely hoping there's enough in there for everyone waiting.  The vet was quite optimistic that there are more than a few, but of course hesitant (understandably) to be too specific (I do have his approximate numbers).  So I'm hopeful we *may* have the numbers I need, now to hope for the sexes as well.

Anyway, the last few months I've been back on here (well - almost a year - been back since early September) reading and researching and planning for this litter have been soo good, and so many members have been helpful directly and indirectly.  So I just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to everyone.

Time to truly start putting things in motion now that we have confirmation. :D
