Good God...........have you seen this..............http://uk.news.yahoo.com/suspect-held-twin-attack-norway-001755243.html

Hard to miss, it is they most horrible situation so very many young people. My heart goes out to all of Norway most of whom must feel this as a personal bereavement.
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 23.07.11 08:39 UTC
Shocking.  I was so saddened to see how many are now presumed dead this morning.
- By cornishmals [gb] Date 23.07.11 09:10 UTC
Terrible.Heard about the bombing last night, but the shooting of soo many young people..terrible.
- By roscoebabe [gb] Date 23.07.11 09:12 UTC
Terribly sad,so many young people who had no means of escape. One witness said the man was dressed as a police officer and people had ran to him only to be gunned down.
- By Dogz Date 23.07.11 09:46 UTC
A complete nightmare.
So  beyond my comprehension.

Karen :(

One very sick, twisted man :-( . Those poor people :-(
- By ludivine1517 Date 23.07.11 12:24 UTC
It's the most shocking event! How can someone fire at so many kids! I feel for them, their family and friends who have to go through this because of someone's deranged idea!

Extremism is NEVER good :-( :-( :-(
- By mastifflover Date 23.07.11 17:58 UTC
Oh my gosh :(

Tragic :( :(

My heart goes out to all the families that have lost thier children and everybody else effected by that awfull ordeal :( :(
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 28.07.11 18:25 UTC
I could hardly believe the news. My thoughts are with all those involved. Sad however that there are not many posts yet so many have lost their lives. Perhaps none were a celeb ??

It may be the title of the thread, it only says 'Norway'. I thought it may have been a question about holidaying in Norway at first, maybe others haven't realised it is about the awfull events in Norway?

Just seemed too terrible to have one of 'those' threads were everyone just repeats the same things - doesn't mean that I'm not as shocked as everyone else - sometimes a dignified silence seems better.

> Perhaps none were a celeb ??

That's a bit cheap :( For some of us, the happenings in Norway are MORE important than posting on here for heavens sake  :(
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 28.07.11 19:30 UTC
Not cheap , I say what I see and am honest about it.
- By Stooge Date 28.07.11 19:50 UTC

> I say what I see

Yes, you are right I would probably have been inclined to comment if it was a story about a celeb.
- By Daisy [gb] Date 28.07.11 19:53 UTC

> I say what I see and am honest about it

Well I'm being honest too. I can't believe that you gauge people's feelings on Norway by the number of postings on a dog forum thread ?????
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 28.07.11 19:59 UTC
it is simply what I see. Sorry if that has upset you but I would have thought there would have been more replies considering what happened.
- By Stooge Date 28.07.11 20:14 UTC

> I would have thought there would have been more replies considering what happened.

I hope you now understand that it is not necessarily lack of feeling that prevents people discussing their feelings on a public forum.
- By ShaynLola Date 28.07.11 20:48 UTC

>I would have thought there would have been more replies considering what happened.

Why? Doesn't seem at all strange to me. I have talked about the awful events in Norway at length with family and friends.  I don't feel any compulsion to do so on an internet forum, facebook or anywhere else.  I imagine others have done the same.
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 28.07.11 20:56 UTC
so you do need to a drug celeb to get results. I'm with it now, thanks
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.07.11 21:01 UTC
Celebs get gossip. They love gossip - they live for gossip and sometimes die for gossip.

Ordinary people - innocent children callously executed - deserve better.
- By Stooge Date 28.07.11 21:07 UTC

> so you do need to a drug celeb to get results. I'm with it now, thanks

Results?  Are you saying an event can be judged in its significance by the number of posts it generates on Champdogs?
I would say you are not "with it" yet.
- By Minipeace [gb] Date 28.07.11 21:09 UTC
striking a nerve, at last!! Those in Norway I agree should be respected but sadly a drug filled lady who was a waste and not a roll model should not be given time.
- By Daisy [gb] Date 28.07.11 21:12 UTC

> striking a nerve, at last

Are you getting some sort of pleasure from this ?
- By Stooge Date 28.07.11 21:13 UTC
Perhaps it would be more appropriate for you to give your thoughts on Amy Winehouse on the thread concerning her rather than doing what you have accused others of, namely disrespecting those that have suffered in Norway by bringing up this rather odd discussion on the differentials of shock here.
- By JAY15 [gb] Date 28.07.11 21:23 UTC
so you do need to a drug celeb to get results. I'm with it now, thanks

Sorry, I don't think you are. What has happened in Norway is a catastrophe on a scale that people can barely begin to understand and it took place in a country that shows no outward signs of being poisoned by violent extremism. It will take time for the facts to emerge, so any discussion before that is speculation, which seems particularly inappropriate here.

Absence of comment here does not infer that people care less about this than the death of a "drug celeb," which  is a pretty ugly and insensitive way of labelling someone's child. You might be closer to the mark if you interpreted the silence as a measure of respect.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 28.07.11 21:23 UTC

>Those in Norway I agree should be respected

Then practice what you preach and don't attempt to rate the importance of their lives by the amount of posts on a dog forum.
- By LindyLou [gb] Date 29.07.11 08:39 UTC

>You might be closer to the mark if you interpreted the silence as a measure of respect

This is closer to the point. I am still trying to get my head round why someone would do this to a large group of young people. Beyond comprehension.

My thoughts are with the families and friends of those poor people. As are those of the majority of this board.

It doesn't mean I have to pass comment on it on a dog board, though I have done now.

Well, it took you five days to post!  :)  :)
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 29.07.11 16:59 UTC
The lack of posts will more likely be due to the shock that someone would do this rather than people caring more about a "celebrity".  Words still fail me on what happened in Norway, there is nothing that you can say or even imagine that would be anywhere near the scale of what the poor families and friends are going through over there.
