Often look at peoples user-names and wonder how they were chosen, I know when we were told not to use our Affix some of use were looking in a hurry for a name but others seem to have given it lots of thought.
So how and why did you choose yours and if (like mine) it is in memory of a dog what's the story.
No prizes for guessing why I chose mine!

I have Curly Coated Retrievers, when I tried to get "Curly" or "Curlywurly" they were both refused, I tried Crinklecut as in Curly Chip and it was accepted!

Erm........parents chose it!! lol
By Kesmai
Date 26.07.11 19:39 UTC

Kesmai is the name of my dog that was PTS before we got Tilly. She was with me for 13 years and I tend to use her name for most of my user names as it never seems to be taken when I try it. It means that I will always have that extra moment of remembering her in a day when I type her name each time I log on.
We chose her name as my Hubby is a PC Gamer and Kesmai were a company that produced games. When we first got Kesmai he was playing one of their games. We ran through every name going to see what she would respond to and she ignored everything until he loaded up the game and the music had her fixated with the PC so she got called Kesmai.
I am owned by 4 soft-coated wheaten terriers and we refer to them as Sawheaties (amongst other unprintable things :) which I didn't think would be allowed!)

My daughter came up with this when she was 8 or 9, to do with her love of polos and our dogs being Australian Terriers I think.
I suppose it could be changed?

Mine is my initials Lucy Jane and will leave the surname for people who know me or need to know !
I have never thought about changing it as it was one of my first ever internet names. This is the only site that I use LJS :-)

Chose Roscoebabe as thats what I call my big soppy dog! He's really Roscoe but 9 times out of ten I add "babe" to the end lol. Well it was that or "Spoilt brat" which is his other name!

Mine is a nickname I had many, many years ago when I was first at work. I was a rather shy girl and a rather dishy chap who worked in the office next door used to sing 'Daisy, Daisy' when I went in - used to embarass me which was exactly why he sang it :) :) :)

I think the words speak for themselves, it is something my husband used to call me ( fun meant ) and it stuck.

Well I am Cornish and my love is Malamutes

Mine is the two dogs we had when I joined, Coco and Poppy, cocopops are also my sons' fave cereal :-)

Because I am jack of all trades, and master of very few!

Needed something I could remember and this was a nickname I picked up when I was in the RAF about 46 years ago.........Good Dog..was it that long ago
mine is obvious i have and am owned by pembroke corgis

They were the names of the 2 dogs I had when I first got the internet and Cava was 14 months :-)

Mine is its part of my name, and how I sign my name on line!!!!!
To my family I am Leanne, to everyone else that knows me online I am Lea (said Lee!!)
Lea :)
:)

Mine is (or rather was) my affix.

Mine's my affix too, now when we are allowed them again. :)

The reason for my username is boring - I love Mastiffs :)

This is quite boring but My name is Vannessa but everyone that knows me calls me Nessa or Ness (my mum used to call me by my full name when naughty). Which was a lot and am owned by a staffy.
Would of had my affix but we couldn't use them when I joined and just haven't changed it lol
Nessa

Storm's the first dog I've had that I haven't been allowed to chose the KC name for. The guy who owned the bitch (who didn't even whelp the litter and had nothing to do with the pups, the sires owner did all the hard work) named them and wouldn't let me change it. And his KC name is awful! If I'd been able to I'd have called him Dark Storm Lad. So now I use it as my username on here instead. :)
Double meaning to my username really.
I'm English (Yorkshire !) but I have lived in Scotland for a lot of years now, however I am still a foreigner lol
But the actual spelling that I use, Sassinak, is the title of and main character in one of my all time favourite books by Anne McCaffrey.

A million trillion years ago, I used to write (real snail mail) to a friend who signed his name 'the xxx' so i signed mine 'The Em, X' So when I joined here and needed a username for the first time EVER.. I ran it all together, Theemx. So there you go!

Mine is short for Luna Moona Pug, the cute little bit of black fluff that is always firmly attached to either my lap or my ankle, I guess she was just 'there' when I was thinking of one!

Jolly was the name of my first dog, and Polly was a dog who belonged to my parents.

Mine is very boring, I tried a couple names and it wouldn't let me register and at the time of registering I had a young Staffie amongst a lot of other dogs so I just put in Staff...
spose mine speaks for itself!twas either that or"mad collie lady"which is what my grand daughter calls me!good thread, ive enjoyed reading the replies, well done!

Crichton is part of one of my dogs KC name which I chose.
Later I started using Flatspring as I have flatcoats and a springer :)
By Celli

Mine was my first Staffy's nickname, she was called Celeste, so amongst other things she was called Celli.

After a precious old boxer called Tula which my young son used to call Tooolz. She was his best friend, his nanny, his playmate, his climbing frame and the one he shared his Farleys rusks with.
Despite having many others before and since, she was special to him and every other generation we would see quite a bit of Tooolz in other bitches and would sometimes mistakenly call her Tooolz....but just for a minute. She was one of a kind. :-)

Its my name, lack of imagination when I found CD.

Mine is the name of my dearly departed rescue Parson Russell boy ............still missed everyday :(
After my beloved Whistler, I couldn't think further than that and being calleds Vivienne Anne is awful!! and a mouthfull.
By JAY15
Date 27.07.11 12:04 UTC

I found I couldn't use my name so used my initials instead with a sufficiently high number to make sure that I didn't inconvenience JAY1, JAY2, JAY3, etc...(who probably don't exist anyway) :-)
Wouldn't know where to start if I used a pet's name...

Mine is after my much loved boy Dakko who was PTS age 14 just before I joined here. We used to call him dakkobear as he looked like a bear cub when he was wee :-) - he is also my picture on here. ( still miss you baby!)
By Pedlee
Date 27.07.11 12:58 UTC

Married name Pedder, maiden name Leeson. I tried to get Pedlee accepted as my affix, but the KC refused it.
My name is Linda, and my family have always called me LindyLou, so very easy for me ;-)
Oh, and to Sassinak, Anne McCaffrey is amongst my favourites too :-p I have just finished re-reading Pegasus in Flight.

Mine is self explanatory too, first 3 letters of my first name and the first 4 letters of my breed and I also got it granted as my KC affix.
There is one member who hasn't replied yet I would love to know how she came up with it.

The name of the wonderful lab girl I had when I joined. Jet. :) Actually I joined in hopes of finding help in getting jet jewellery from the U.K. And I did. :)

Date 27.07.11 13:58 UTC

Lea :) :) :)
By kayc
Date 27.07.11 14:04 UTC
My name and surname initial Kay C. although I was called Kasey (KayC) at work many years ago.. there were two Kay's I became Kay C, and when introduced to people they heard it as Kasey and thats who I was all the time I worked there. When I originally found 'tinternet, my user name was Casey :-)

That was in 2005 and my OH was holidaying in Scotland at the time, searching his birthplace. I designed two pieces of jewellery in jet myself and bought 3 of each, plus some of the Victorian Jet's own pieces. My girlfriend bought two of the pieces I designed and I gave two of the four I bought as Christmas presents to my family who knew my beloved Jet very well. Jet died of old age, 14 and a half, in 2007.
I mention my OH because it gave rise to the name of our current Lab, Oban. :)

My surname is Adams, and one of my brother's was always known as Adsy to his friends. On the basis I hero worshipped him as a child (which is why I now support Arsenal), and I don't like giving too much information on a public forum, I nicked it, and added my initial - so became Tadsy.

well simple really my friends are furry. now where is brainless ?

I drive a landrover!!!!
Mine is a name I used for a kitten, back in the days when I used to breed Birmans. I had a litter nicknamed The Honey Bunch (Honeysuckle, Honeydew and Honeymoonbeam).
My middle name is Kaye so I stuck a number on the end - seemed sort of appropriate for a dog forum....
