Hi everyone. I was just wondering if anyone in the Brighton area has a large/very large puppy. Strange I know, but I have an 11 month old ridgeback and find it quite difficult to find play friends around my area and whenever he meets smaller dogs at the park they play for a little while before the other dog gets taken away due to owners being a bit weary - not because mines particularly rough with theirs just that he is just over 7 stone now and likes the old 'lets roll over onto the smaller dog' game etc. I feel a good long walk does more for me than it does for him and that he benefits so much more after a good play with other dogs. So I was just seeing if anyone out there maybe had the same problem in finding some friends lol - If so get back to me

The time old problem with Ridgebacks! Been there, done that ;-)
Sorry I'm not local to you as I have a 1.5yr old RR bitch who would love to roll him back! I suggest you try and find some local RRs for him to play with. At his age, it is probably best that you try and find some more mature, well mannered RRs who can teach him how to play fairly but still give him some RR quality play and tire him out properly. Are you on Facebook? There is a good network of RR owners on Facebook and you may be able to find someone to meet up with. If you want to try this, message me your email and I will add you and recommend a pile of people!

he is just over 7 stone now and likes the old 'lets roll over onto the smaller dog'
should this be allowed in a pup to roll on a smaller dog?
I ment this in a way where hes not doing it on purpose hes just a bit loppy and puts his head down too far and ends up rolly-polly-ing. He doesn't see a small dog and automatically wants to roll on it lol
Typical non aggressive/boisterous Ridgeback behaviour.
