Topic Dog Boards / Health / Bitch hasn't coming into season..

Hi everyone,

My 2 year old GSP bitch had her first season 24th June 2010 and her second season on the 24th December 2010, I was expecting her to come into season 3 weeks ago but she still hasn't. She did swell a little for a few days, but no spotting (her first 2 seasons were very heavy) and i'm concerned that she hasn't come in yet.. Vet suggested I had missed it, or that she is being very clean, however I would have noticed it on the carpet I'm sure.

Planning to put her in pup when she has her next season (December/January when she will be 2 and a half). But her being late has made me a bit concerned.. any advice greatly appreciated!

they don't red the books.

My Myka has gone anything from 7 - 9 months between seasons, others have also been a months or two late on occasion, usually when you plan to mate them LOL.

Bitches can vary the time between seasons, have split seasons or ones where they don't bleed. Any upset or.disruption in their lives can upset things.

My girls go 6-8 months and then come in within days of each other.

I dab my girls with a tissue first thing each morning before they have their first wee from 5.5 months onwards to pick up on even the smallest loss.

Just be patient.
