As a bitch owner in a breed where slip matings have rarely resulted in puppies I would not consider a slip mating a mating as there is no evidence that the mating has been effected and the required deposit made.
More often than not slip matings occur in my breed when the bitch isn't yet quite ready so further matings with ties would e expected.
I know that in some small breeds slip matings as the norm are found so that would be different, but if I had a male that usually tied I would not want to risk his stud reputation on a slip mating.
I am in a breed where stud owenrs usally wait until there are pups on the ground before wanting to be paid, and that is with them going beyond the call of duty re meeting part way, boarding, collecting or returning a bitch, hospitality etc. I have had one of my bithes spend two weks with the satud and miss and then spend a month with him as she had a split season, stud fee payable after litter born.
Then again we don't have dogs being used at stud where the owners of dog and bitch do not know each other.
