I have 3 week old pups and have just noticed they all have a rash on their tummies and 2 have on there muzzles. Today would be their 3rd day of worming with panacur but im reluctant to give them their last dose as im not sure if its a reaction to the wormer.

Mum isnt cleaning them as much now so also wondered about that, they are on vet bedding but due to the heat have been sleeping on the newspaper.

What do you all think?

im wondering if its the news paper? ive read somewhere it can give pups a rash ,something in the ink couldnt you put cotten bedding down for them to lay on and news paper for the other and see how they go, but if you think its the wormer id go to the vets to see just incase xx

Before the days of Vetrbed such a rash was quite common, it is the equivalent of nappy rash caused by contact with pee.  Mum not cleaning as much makes it worse/more likely.

Get some sensitive baby wipes and wipe the pups over several times a day and apply some Vaseline to their tummies to act as a barrier.

I would finish the Panacur course.

Thanks. I did think that was the problem, I made sure they got a good clean after each meal yesterday so will keep it up.

I gave them their last dose of panacur too as i spoke to my vet and he said it would be fine. :-)
