please can anyone help me.
i have a bitch and i have bred her with another dog of the same breed, and before anyone says anything aweful yes i do have homes for the pups and i am a responsible dog owner and she has not been bred for money reasons either.
she will be on day 50 today of her pregnancy but it is so hard too tell weather she is or isnt.when she was mated she did not tie with the male but mated 5 times with him. she has shown signs of pregnancy like her being tierd more than normal, very loving her teets have become a bit bigger but her tummy hasnt.a friend of ours said she could be possibley carrying the pups in her ribs. she is normally a very active dog but tends too sleep quiet a bit in the day just latley.this afternoon she was sick a tiny bit of what they call yellowish fluid.
is it possible she is pregnant,i know there is a scan i can have done for her.many thanks

Yes you can have her scanned. Have you not spoken to your vet about this when you had all the health gets done as presume you will have discussed you were planning to breed with her and so discussed her health care before and after whelping ?

would be a good idea to have a chat with your vet and get him to examine her and should be able to tell. you need to see vet anyway to discuss the worming regeme you will need for her and any pups and also to discuss what to do if she has any differculties at birth- where do you take her if in trouble out of hours etc

It is important that you know if she is or not as you should be sorting her diet and what worming you should be doing, would take her to be scanned and then speak to your vet about what you should be doing now and as she gets near parturition and after.
I dont think any one on here is going to judge you, people are here to help such people like me and you.
Saying that, you should have gone to your vet at 42 days after mating to start up the worming and her food. You should have also gone and got a scan on her, just to see if she has got puppies or not. It does cost alot of money to take her to the vet, but you should have been prepared for this before you mated your girl. Im no expert but i have learned alot from people on here in the past.
The vet should be able to tell you for 99.9% if she is pregnant or not. Have you got the birthing box ready? with loads of newspapers and clean sheets or towels, as if she is pregnant she has not got long left. 59 to 63 days is the normal time to deliver.
Hope all goes well for you! :~)

I would take her to be scanned if she was not obviously pregnant. When a bitch only carries one puppy, the puppy can become too big to be born with out difficulty and often does not survive whelping, even if it is born naturally. A singleton puppy does not always stimulate the bitch to whelp, unlike a full litter so I think you should get her to the vet and if possible have her scanned. If she is carrying a single pup it may well be better to choose to have the pup delivered by caesarian.
