I have the latter but can't see the connection between the 2 breeds? You don't mention what size or coat? There are less than 100 dachsies in rescue each year usually due to elderly owners passing away or not coping any more and the waiting list is long.

This is the best place Iv found to find specific breeds in rescues http://www.dogsblog.com/ You can search by breed and it will tell you if any of the rescues reg'd with them have that breed in. Other than that I would try googling the breed and rescue after it to find and dedicated breed rescues.
Hope thats helpful.

I think you'll find that responsible owners or breeders will want to vet you quite extensively and I can't think anyone would just bring a dog to a show on spec!

Is there any reason why you aren't considering just buying a puppy?  Are you wanting to show this next dog too, if so you'd find it easier to stick with a gundog so you can show both on the same day...
