Not sure if I've put this in the right place, please move if it isn't!
I need some advice.
My CKCS got her booster this evening, she's been absolutely fine up until about half an hour ago. When she stood up from her bed and walked over to me, her head was right down and her bum was tucked right in, she sat down and started yelping, in obvious pain. She doesn't want to walk, and will do so reluctantly when we tried to get her out for a wee.
She's never had a reaction of any kind to Vaccs, boosters, ect.
Obviously, if she gets worse/no change by tomorrow morning, I will be contacting the vet.
Any advice, in the mean time, would be gratefully appreciated.

Yes I've seen this, it was after I changed vets and they used a different brand of vaccine. First it happened with a litter of Papillon pups, worried me quite a lot as they were so small and really in pain and unwell but it did pass within 24 hours. Then it happened with a 5 year old Papillon who had never had a problem after a booster before, he too was fine within 24 hours but was in obvious pain to start with. My Papillon breed mentor recommends giving Life Aid to small dogs after vaccination.
Many Thanks Goldmali,
Ive never heard of Life Aid, will have to google to see where to get it.
At present my girl is sleeping, Ive got her upstairs with hubby and I next to our bed...she seems fairly settled and is sleeping.
The vaccination that was used is Duramune Dappi, which is the same one that has always been used, so I dont understand why this should happen:(

I hope your little one is better this morning.I have afriend who's Malamute had a severe reaction to his booster.Though fine now it was scary for her at the time.

Interesting two separate Friends in my breed have had issues with that vaccine, one went into anaphalactic shock and they were advised never to booster again, the other was just unwell.

Get your vet to send an Advrse Reaction report, detailing the batch number.
Your not alone toffeecrisp, also happened to one of my 2yr old pups, I had a frightening call from his owner saying that 20mins after the booster he could barely walk and was very lethargic, it was a different vaccine, I told her to make sure that the vet logged what had happened and she has never used that vaccine make again.
He was fine the next day just to add and no further complications on further boosters.
Must be very scary when it happens, but she should be fine tomorrow if it follows suit with the rest of our experiences. :-)
Happened to me with my boy that I bred and kept and will never vaccinate him again. He was shying away from me, seemed to have problems with the light and was hot and hanging his head, yelping if I tried to touch him. The vet would not send the vaccine reaction notification until I kicked up a huge stink. I changed vets, I now go to a homeopathic vet, it took a good few weeks for my boy to be back to anything near what you would expect and because he missed out on socilaisiation during that time he is not as brave as he should be. The vet prescribed Thuja to counteract the reaction.
Hope yours picks up soon.
Many Thanks for all your replies:)
She is a little better today, although very lethargic, had her upstairs with us last night...quite scarey..we did take her to the vet who just basically told us to keep an eye on her and if she was still the same on monday then to take her back.
She has had a little meal, but isnt really interested
Vet never mentioned logging a reaction to the vaccine and never having had it happen before it never occured to me to ask..will ring or go to vet on monday though.
Thankyou again:)
ETA
She is 4yrs old and fit and healthy normally.

I think you can download the adverse reaction form (which really really really you MUST fill out and get your vet to do so too, its SO norty of him not to!), but it escapes me with my current lack of sleep/dose of tramadol as to where you can find it.
I do not understand WHY vets do not have people fill these forms out but vaccine companies CANNOT know the full story on their products if people do not fill them out!
