Well this is my fourth and hopefully last operation following my nasty dog related incident last year, though not my dog thankfully.I have had a nerve graft but as I have had a nerve block in my neck I have no feeling in my left arm at all,it feels like rubber and is very, very odd.It is only meant to last 24 hrs but has exceed this already, and I have a hangover from hell without the joys of alcohol. But  docs not  worried. I also have a vet in the next bed so have had an interesting conversation about N.Is . Well at least I kept my underwear on this time.during one of  my  other ops I woke to find my knickers missing eeek. Now to look forward to a few weeks off on sick leave hopefully it will be sunny.Plus it looks like I am going to be busy for at least 8 weeks from around the 11th July

Well that had to be the best possible person to have in the bed next to you! :) Hope all goes well and that you'll be back home soon.

All the best to you, hope the Doctors confidence is warranted and you will soon be on the way to full health. It is amazing how soon you lose your desire for modesty in hospital you seem to spend all day flashing your bits to anyone who closes your curtains.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery cornishmals, it has been a real ordeal for you--hope you are able to leave hospital with knickers on :)!

Hope all goes well and you get full recovery. I am worried about these doctors who need to remove underwear to find your hand !

Hopefully this is you finally fixed & we will see you back out and about soon (well not too soon, fingers crossed. :P ) I wouldn't complain about the nerve block lasting! I know numbness is a perculiar feeling, get it alot with the frequent shoulder dislocations.
Take care xxx

Wishing you a speedy recovery and you have me worried about the knicker saga now! I am having an op soon, I may put a sticker on mine saying in capitals 'DO NOT REMOVE!!!!'

They normally give you some sexy paper knickers when you go down to theatre.

I was quite tempted to plonk them on my head when I had my op on Monday to see if they found it amusing :-P

Papers even better...I wont need a sticker...I can write on them directly!!!

To be fair it was plastic surgery on my thigh as well as my hand on that occasion  ;)

Think there are times when hygiene is more important than modesty and underwear needs to be removed and replaced with a sheet of that dark green fabric. My last time in hospital I had a haemorrhage in the artery in my groin so knickers were impossible but credit due to the staff whoever they were they did try to retain my modesty.

Know what you mean about modesty.I had to get dressed by a nurse and that included my under wear lol,but at least i had the hind sight to wear my new matching undies.

Well it will be neck that will be cut so I hope no-one will feel any need to venture near my knicker end!!!
