I have a new puppy and changed the ownership to myself and my hubby .. then went on to add my own affix to his kennel name , sent the forms off they cashed the cheque then sent me a letter today to inform me that my affix is only in my name so I have two choices to vary the ownership at the cost of £45 or change the registered ownership again at another £12 , I know it was my own mistake but another way for them to make money , this is because  my other dogs are all in my name.
Then had the cheek to say at the end of the letter that if I decide not to proceed I have to put it in writing to request my £8 refunded.

To be honest they could not do anything else.

You could have a seperate interest registered for hubby in yoru affix.  I think it means that then there would be two affix fees to pay each year, but not sure.

This would mean you could have dogs registered in each of your names seprately or together as you prefer.

Or you could simply not bother with having your affix on new pup.

I don't see how they could do anything about it either, suppose that your and your OH could transfer the ownership of the pup to you alone then you could add your affix.

I realise it was my mistake... but I am annoyed they cashed my cheque as it  cleared 9 days ago I know its only a mear 8 quid but its my 8 quid..:) , then a letter arrives today saying I could not go ahead. Think I was just so excited with the pup didnt give it a proper thought ..hubby said 'why did you add my name in the first place' ?
So now got to start all over again with more cost...just having a bit of a rant as people on here will understand ..talk  about  it to anyone else and they glaze over.. :) all I get is 'you and your dogs.. tsk..'

I think they cash all cheques as they come in before processing things.

probably true...cashing in on the interest...

I think it is pretty standard business practice and very unlikely they get interest on a business account :)

ha ha ..dont know anything about business accounts or such like... just a bit annoyed with myself.. :( but I will sort it.

I've always found them to be pretty good actually- recently paid for a 5 generation pedigree online but then rang them up next day as realised it was a 3 gen pedigree I actually needed. They said they would change it but the 5 gen pedigree duly arrived some days later- and when I rang to complain they explained it had already been sent when I had rang to change it (even though it was less than 24 hours later from time of paying/ordering) and then they explained that the 3 generation ped had been sent out also as a goodwill gesture free of charge!

Just a thought but if you are going to change the name etc then the KC fees are being increased as of 1st July so better get it sent off quick.
