Incredible.  We are so, so fortunate in our society.

Yes we are. Humbling to realise sometimes how the other half live.

His powerful, operatic voice earned him a standing ovation from the studio audience.
However, it has since emerged that Choi attended a high school specialising in the performing arts.
The tvN network explained he had mentioned his training to the judges, but it was edited out to make the story flow better

I'm am not at all surprised.  The real issue is his appalling start in life.  I think it was pretty obvious he had managed to acquire an education along the way.  That in itself is remarkable.

Nice voice..

But - and this isnt to take away from his awful story - you do have to take the 'xyz's Got Talent' shows with a hefty dose of salt, because firstly they do use various techy enhancements (and that clip of him singing IS enhanced/altered and there were flaws/errors in his singing) - they got caught out using it in the UK last time around,  secondly they do heavily edit the 'heart strings' stories, and they do not make it clear that many many contestants have had professional training or even been involved in some aspect of the entertainment/media/music industry previously.

I do wish they wouldn;t because I think stories like this young lads it would be better to hear the honest version than the doctored for TV version - but clearly they disagree and think it makes better tv their way. I suppose they may be right as it makes a heck of a lot of money!
