Topic Dog Boards / Health / LAB - clicky hips

I have an 8 month old black lab (bred at home - mum and dad have good hip scores) and I have noticed that if I place my hands on her back legs I can feel her hips clicking as she walks or when she moves her back legs to sit down. My other dogs don 't have this. She is what I would consider a little under weight - her brother is much heavier than her and has no problems. She doesn't appear to be in any pain and I haven't over-exercised her that I am aware of. Her gait is fine and she has no trouble jumping or climbing stairs. Is this a pre-cursor to hip dysplasia or is it just "one of those things"? I am reluctant to take her to the vets just yet as there doesn't seem to be any real problem with her. Has anyone else noticed this with their pups or am I just being an over-protective mother?

There are some very experienced Lab people here on the board that might be able to help you :)
