Hi, just wondering if anyone can offer some advice pls,
We are getting a puppy later in the year from Ireland about half an hours drive from Belfast, and we were trying to decide on the quickest, safest least stressful way to get the pup back to nr Bolton, flying? Not sure if pups allowed, ferry or any other alternatives, any thoughts would be much appreciated, thanks

It will have to be the Ferry - for Bolton I would opt to drive south to Dublin and pick up the Cat to Hollyhead (2hrs).

Would expect it to take you 2hrs or so to drive down to dublin, then 2hrs on the ferry (pup in car) then about 3 hrs home from Hollyhead.

I don't think any of the domestic airlines will carry animals.

Really, the ferry is probably your safest bet.  The fast crossing between Stranrear and Belfast takes less than 2 hours.  I'm in NI and I know lots of people who have travelled from England with pups this way and it has been fine.  Pup stays in the car (crated, preferably) and will likely sleep through the crossing anyway.

*edited* ah, just seen klb's response.  Yes, Dublin may be quicker depending on journey time to Holyhead vs Stranrear.  It's motorway pretty much all the way to Belfast from Dublin and can be done in 90 mins - 2 hrs depending on traffic.

Thanks, they pretty much all seem as broad as long I think I was hoping for a miracle suggestion lol, were getting a rotti, had them with my old goldie and miss them terribly, and she will be a playmate for our cheeky goldie pup
