It's an in-house test so your vet should do it.

They are not as accurate as the Idexx ones, they don't give a numerical value but just work on a colour change. Still, you should get the result back the same day.

We've used them successfully for 3 different bitches and got two large litters and one average sized one.

The cost will vary from vet to vet, and it also depends on how many times you have them tested. Ask them for a quote.

Think I paid around £17 each day I took my bitch in last year.

Ive used them for 10 out of 11 litters with success with an avergae litter size of almost 10 puppies. I pay about £52 per test.

The one that Idexx does measures exact levels so is by far the most accurate. It cost me around £41 in total for the blood sample taking at the vets and the fee to Idexx. I'm lucky enough to live within reasonable travelling distance of the Idexx lab in Wetherby so took the sample over and got the result the same day.

My vet charged me £18 to take bloods then idexx is £27.72 I think.  Ask me ina  few weeks whether I think it was worth it :)

The only tiem I had bloods sent to lab for testing it was £57, but the in house kits were £27 each, but that was 2008, and 2003.
